This a great story from last night's cruise.
This car was purchased as an old race car decades ago by the father of the current owner. Together, they stripped the car down to the frame, setting the body on its side. The frame had the roll bars removed, and everything was cleaned and repaired. All of the work was done together.
After the father had passed away, the son had a vial made to keep some of the ashes. That vial hangs from the mirror so that the father always rides with him.

Went to a San Diego Roadster Club meeting today and Chuck brought his 56 Olds 88. They all should look this good. IMG_6947.jpeg IMG_6946.jpeg

Had to get a windshield replaced today. I know the owner of the glass shop. (Art) Talking with him, I mentioned the nice Coca-Cola fridge in the waiting room. Turns out it's just an old refrigerator that a guy did some very nice work to. Art said, "The letters are bondo." What? I couldn't believe it. With the aid of a stencil and then completely hand finished with wood chisels and sandpaper, the letters are sculpted in relief. They stand proud about 1/8". And they're absolutely perfect.

Even a little bit of gold leaf on there.

Lunch with two hilarious realtor referral partners. Nice day to “work it” in the roadster.

Nice '36. Phaeton, right? No side windows? Also the Challenger looks like a good car spotting vehicle, @Maverick Daddy .

  24. Just for the record: @Maverick Daddy..It's uncouth to show such a sweet ride for sale and not show a close shot of the For Sale sign w/ info.....:D:(

You have no idea how much body work has already been done to the truck. If you don't approve, just keep your comments to yourself, and moving along.
Not everyone one is a body man, and not everything is done to last for the next 50 years. Sometimes you just need to preserve what is there for as long as it lasts.
You wouldn't like anything I build and drive, but that isn't my problem, its yours.

It's my Company vehicle,(challenged) I hate it. I will tell you this though... the challenger and the ford wear very similar price tags.

That Challenger looks like a SE 6cyl. Challengers can be a lot of fun if upgraded appropriately. I miss my 2010 B5 blue Challenger RT 5spd. But the paint on them is very thin and I live on a gravel road and couldn't live with myself had I kept it, as it doesn't take anything to chip the paint right off of it. I think I would still rather have the Challenger over the 36 Ford.
