  8. While driving past Fremont HS in Sunnyvale yesterday I saw a parking lot full of SUVs and ugly silver, beige, or grey Japanese or Korean blobs. Nothing like HS parking lots in the "old days".

Not sure if this is meant to be strictly about cars but I got talking to the parts guy at work and he let me go through the OLD parts manual 20180501_174010.jpg 20180501_173930.jpg 20180501_173850.jpg 20180501_173205.jpg 20180501_171857.jpg 20180501_171850.jpg 20180501_173340.jpg 20180501_171603.jpg 20180501_171553.jpg 20180501_171208.jpg

Saw this today on I-70, eastbound, east of Kansas City. Most likely headed to the Magic Dragon car show at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Actually I saw about 30 hot rods today, all headed in that direction. This 1939 Chevrolet was about the only H.A.M.B. friendly car of them all, but it's pretty street roddy. And was on a trailer besides.

If someone can rotate the pic I'd appreciate it. The photo I uploaded was oriented correctly, but I don't know how to change it now.

Steel3window, you might have finally found where all the driver's side truck doors went from the early years. :D

    Hello,

Just a mile or so east of the famous Donut Derelicts is another location of the local, Woody’s Diner group. It is set up like a 50s diner with paraphernalia that goes with the theme. The food is great and fits any budget.

After the Saturday morning Donut And Derelicts stroll, it is about a mile eastward on Adams St. We have dined here several times and like all other Woody’s Diners, the food is outstanding.
“Woody's Diner opened our first restaurant in Huntington Beach in mid 1987. Since it's inception, Woody's Diner has featured a 50's surf theme with tabletop jukeboxes, an all-American menu, and a nostalgic atmosphere that has kept customers coming back for over 30 years.

Due to it's popularity, Woody's Diner has launched six restaurants along Southern California's coastline, including locations in Sunset Beach, Newport Beach, Orange, Laguna Hills, and Huntington Beach. Each location has both indoor and outdoor seating.

Thank you for making us a town favorite. We look forward to you catching the Woody's Diner wave and serving you in the near future!”

But, the menu was from the Newport Beach Lido island location. We were on memory recollection drive down the coast, yesterday to visit some friends and old locations from years past. The Newport location was/is right next to the old Lido movie theater. All locations are dog friendly and have great food on the menu.

The Sunset Beach location is the most memorable and what we think is the best looking 50s diner around. We have been there many times and the food is great like all of the locations in this Woody’s Diner group. The newest one is located in the Old Town Orange shopping area... Definitely, check them out on your next hot rod cruise or outing.

What's crazy is this isn't even half of the doors I saw. Everything is similarly stored, indoors & on racks. Unfortunately, none of it is for sale... yet.

Wow! Been longer than I thought since I had looked back at this thread, Looks like it turned out to be a really good one. Thanks for sharing! This has got to be the coolest of these ugly/cool valiants Ive ever saw, I had a chance to buy a black one with red interior out of a junk yard 20 years ago but it never happened.
