Hot Rods What you see today??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by jeffd1988, Apr 22, 2017.

  1. I saw this today in my back yard. Finally, after a 10 year long storage, I managed to go get it and bring her home. Thought I might ought to take a photo of it in case its another 10 years before I finally finish it. I need to put the engine back in it and finish the interior.

Wow! That awesome! And that’s from a Ford man, Bones

  3. I saw this today. It's a 1934 Ford fire truck. The firedpartment was founded in 1909. They purchased the 34 new. It has always been stored inside. It was repainted sometime in the 70's. The fireman in charge told me to stop by with my grandson, and he would give us a ride. So I'm definitely going to take him up on that!;) It's the{ STRASBURG V.F.D.} Thanks Ron.... 20180523_144644.jpg 20180523_144452.jpg 20180523_144247.jpg

Even with four doors these Chevys and Pontiacs are kool. My dad had a '52 Pontiac, when
I saw this Chevy my car headed for it automatically.

  11. HOLY MAGILLA! I thought my buddy's 1937 Chevy had been stolen when I saw this car. It is IDENTICAL to his with all of the accessories. I had to call him and ask him if he sold it or if he knew where it was. Luckily, it isn't his.... File0224.jpg

Looks small but it's got a presense when your beside it...it had double doors on back...so Panel Delivery?

It was in the local Hardware/Auto Store
chain we have...I was looking for tire repair stuff and saw the windshield above the isle racks...it's buried in the store must have been interesting getting it there.

I think like many large companies they have a large Antique collection of relevant vehicles and actually make diecast models and piggy banks...etc.

  17. How can you tell from the photo? Is that center dash vent only on air conditioned cars? This is the only mid year I have ever had and I thought they all had that vent.

On one of the roads leading to the new Outlet stores. It has been touched up or painted over a couple of times.

    Hello,

After several weeks of drizzly, all day sprinkles, then a heavy rainfall and more drizzle days, So Cal finally got some sunshine. So, out came the cameras for a southerly drive to Carlsbad, stopping first in San Clemente. The newly created San Clemente Outlet Stores were built on a huge, coastal, flat plateau near the ocean.

These stores are handy for shopping, have different merchandise, and have a different atmosphere than the downtown shops, just down the highway. At this Outlet location, they have created a late starting Cars and Coffee event every Saturday morning from 9-11 am. Why start so late when the Huntington Beach Donut Derelicts weekly Saturday event starts very early in the am, like 6:30 or earlier?

There are huge houses in the surrounding neighborhoods leading to and away from the Outlet parking areas. This long road leads those “idiots in a Mustang or…” to create a loud atmosphere arriving for and leaving the event. Complaints to the city and local Sheriff's Dept. have put a slowdown to these crazy antics.

The Ole Hanson Beach Club is just down the same street, but located right on the oceanfront. It is one of many historic buildings in this 90 year old city.

Three local San Clemente artists participated in creating and finishing this mural.

“This project has been two years in the making, We’ve gone through a couple of different drafts, different versions, different size proportions, design elements with the owner of the building . Once we got a design that we both agreed on, we took it to the city and it completely changed.

The city encourages murals but requires design review before issuing a permit. Creating the mural took five days, working 10 to 12 hours daily.

Originally it was a surf mural with a lot of bright colors, Because it is in the historical district, the city suggested a historical mural.

In the end it worked out… With a historical mural, it never goes out of style,”

56 Don, The 63/67 AC vettes had the center vent and 2 "extra" knobs above the 4 near the radio. Non AC cars had only 4 knobs and no center vent. The air cars also had amateurish looking ( but factory) under the dash vents that funneled air to near the end of the dash. A lot air cars "lost "these vents over the years. I had an AC 67 for a while that had been turned into a street racer. As long as you have the dash, getting the AC up and running is just a matter of finding parts. Changing the dash from non AC to AC is a hassle. Cutting the dash for the vent is not for the weak or timid. You have a VERY nice car. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with it.

Cool old Mopar wagon in the local Farm & Fleet parking lot. Ontario plates, so he’s a ways from home. Nobody around to ask about details.
