Hello,

Yesterday, my wife and I were in a different part of town and on the way to the freeway. We (she saw) a reddish, hot rod coming up on our rear view. She looked out of her passenger side mirror. It was a bright orange-red combination paint and the guy driving was smiling the whole time we saw it. He got lost in the traffic shuffle. To me, it looked like a 1932 roadster with the top down.

But despite the sun trying to come out, the glare was enough to get some resemblance of a photograph. The rear view mirror had its upper reflective glare mirror trick in play and the two small glowing balls (upper center left) are from the roadster in the sun. As the technology is there, the glare is always reflected up into the different layers of the mirror, allowing the driver to see clearly in the main screen.

Luckily, no one was in front of us and there was a three car space behind us, too. So, I did not get a “What the %$#@! are your doing?” coming from the other front seat. Whew!

That roadster owner/driver was just having a great time, cruising with the top down, despite being the only old hot rod on the street.

 

I came really close to putting Keystones on my Vette.

 

They look great on that 63. I run them on my 65 Plymouth, love the look.

 

The Great American Race went through Lexington, KY.

Wow great bunch of photos @65pacecar some of those guys are SERIOUS racers LOL look at all that have advanced odometers and intricate timing equipment installed.

Thanks. These guys were crazy. Talked to them for a bit, dressed period correct for the era of the car and all. Cool guys, they were letting kids sit in it and mess with everything too.

 

My mom bought a week stay at a can cabin on the lake at the church auction so we went there to visit. The cabin next to hers had a little trailer next to it with some early 50s Olds high hubcaps. I was getting all excited because I thought I found one to complete my set. I looked a little closer and thought something looked a little off about them. It looked like someone hammered the center flat on both of them to get them to fit over something.... Totally bummed
