  7. Daddy will be 90 in September. He still loves riding in the Hot Rod. I took him with me to church today. IMG_3304.JPG IMG_3310.JPG

It's a safe bet to say my wife dislikes it when I see a kool ride on the road.
She knows that she's about to kiss another 20-30 minutes of her life goodbye
as I turn around, follow and stop to talk to the owner. This is the perfect
case. I saw this Chevy coming at me so I was prepared to follow him and
hope he stops for some reason. It was a righteous day so the owner decided
to take a ride in the middle of the day in the middle of the week. It really
is as nice in person as it is in the pic. By the way, I'd say 99 out of a hundred
people like talking about their car when we've stopped.

Was out driving my wifes Fiat Topolino to the auto sparky, as it had charging issues, and saw a nice blue AC Cobra replica rocking down the road (theres only a few genuine ones in New Zealand).

And I thought to myself, twenty years back, I was told they are an old mans T Bucket, and today I saw that and immediately felt like an old man - well old enough to have one of them.

Ever since I saw CannonBall Run as a young fella, I have loved AC Cobras (and their replicas). I have sat in a few and Im a lousy fit, but just think of the smile that would be on my face - and lets forget how I can climb out gracefully.

We all like a nice front end...

    Hello,

What is not to like about flames on an old truck/van or sedan if done right. Not too overbearing , but subtle highlights to go along with the rest of the build color. This old GMC Panel Delivery was nicely built. It had the good stance to show some agression and not just an elephant of a big blob moving down the street.

The way the flames are drawn and then color faded into the main body makes it look like real flames at a beach bonfire in the middle of summer. The GMC Panel Delivery was for sale and during these pandemic times, a hard sell. But the neighborhood where it was parked was a great place to have a good looking hot rod build sitting in plain sight of plenty of cars and trucks driving by every day.

We drove by the “for sale” location a week later during a buying spree for our garden nursery run and the colorful GMC Panel Delivery was gone. (Either back to Montana, or it was sold.) The location that we saw and took some photos was an excellent location, because the market was rather large. The homes are in the upper cost brackets and those that are in their own cars from other places still have a great open view of the GMC Panel Truck sitting by the side of the road.

Thousands drove by every day to and from home to work. Plus, those of us that are on the roads for errands and a nice coastal cruise back down the PCH highway through Laguna Beach, CA. A better for a static display of a cool hot rod could not have been anywhere else. So, “Yea” for the seller and lucky buyer.

There was a time when seeing a Ferrari on the road was a major deal. Those
days are gone for me. I think it's kool to see a 'vette like this on the road, in
a driveway or parking lot. Someone using his (vintage) Corvette, like Enloe
    does.

  24. We've been without rain for so long, if we got some I'd be tempted to take my 'never sees rain' pickup for a ride!!!

Like Deuces, no pic but an unrestored, unrodded '49 Merc. No skirts,
no chop, a flathead, light surface rust at worst and plates dating back to
'69. Normally, I would have asked to take a photo but this elderly
couple were relaxing in their lawn chairs in front of the garaged car
while running a garage sale. In the next stall of this split-stall garage
was a 289 equipped '66 Mustang convertible. This was in an old section
of a small town in Illinois. Imagine the cars in garages that we don't get
    to see.

I can't post the two pics I took of a 1970 Opel GT sitting outside a repair
shop while the car's owner decides what he wants done to it. I can't
imagine how long it's been since I last saw an Opel GT. Decades wouldn't
    be an exaggeration.
