NO, anyone can rent a fairgrounds but closing down the streets in town like the old Paso is the coolest.

What you really need to be prepared for is service at the bar/resturant. Make sure you have enough staff so potential money doesn't walk back out the door and find another place to eat.

 

wayland aint GOT enough streets... and reeds bar an grill is the ONLY place to get something to eat in town. captive audience...

the show IS going to outgrow downtown wayland for sure... its just a matter of when, not if. and i believe this might be the last year for the downtown venue unless it becomes an invite only show

Todd just remember we are there to help if and when you get in the weeds. I can also help serve at the bar/restaurant if you want. 22 years in the F & B biz. Of course that means I'd have to stay sober...

 

I'm sure it's in one of these threads, but when does the shindig start on Saturday?? Also, what time to the bands start Friday night for the pre party?

pre party starts whenever you want it to! the rumblejetts will start at 8 or 9.. depending on whos there! prolly be over by 11-12[bandwise] ...then sat.....regs start whenever, but we really wont be ready till 8!
denise, there will be an outside smoker that us kdusters will be makin pork sammiches and other things on! also, another feller is settin up the same thing down the street!and the b scouts are settin up on the other end with there stuff!
you are more then welcome to throw some spam on our smoker if you like!

fiddy, ill never do an invite only show! i just dont like that sorta thing! but i think your right, this may be the last year for the intown show..but we shall see...flood water and 5 dolla gas, might have plenty of room!!!haha...
but not to worry, both pre and post partys will ALWAYS BE IN WAYLAND! and there will be a hotel in the next couple of years within 1/8th mile of the show! that will change everything!

Well....if you count the Flying J and the little gas station on the highway then there are actually 3 places go get grub.

Since downtown Waylon is only about a block long anything more than 12 cars will outgrow it.

Hey Breeder. I was just down in Waylon 2 weeks ago for Daws auction. Is the Alexanderia road open yet? If everyone heading to and from Keokuk has to cut thru the gravel backroad outta St Francisville I'm sure some of them are gonna get lost. You may need to think about posting signs on where to turn.
