here we go, somebody ID this for me so i know if it's what i think it is, and let me know how much it should be worth in the shape it's in. I'm thinking about trying to get it and one other that I'll post next. Found em behind a dairy farm along with about 200 old tractors. If you check out the old signage on the door, apparently the truck was turned into a well driller a loooong time ago.
switch this first one looks to be 34 and the 2nd a 32.I'll take the 32 cab and grille for my help .Danny
heres just some more randon pics of a small amount of the collection of stuff he has on this property, and no the A in the barn ain't for sale, i tried though. A 20-something chevy, or whats left of it. holy tractors!
I was sure the grille was a 32, but i wasn't sure about the cab, the man said the 2nd cab was a 32, but he was wrong about half the stuff he had. so what's people usually sell rust like this for? I'm tryin to work out a deal with the guy...
[ QUOTE ] switch this first one looks to be 34 and the 2nd a 32 [/ QUOTE ] Isn't the dashboard different for '34s? Or was it different with trucks? Nice find, either way! On the first truck, are those exhaust stacks through the hood or some sorta support beams?
those are the supports that held up the well drill, they're welded to the frame next to the engine. I dunno about the difference of the dashes, never gotten the opportunity to mess with anything that old.
The first one does appear to ba a '34..it look's to have the reveal above the body line below the back window. The grill in it look's like a p*** grill, but i think it's actually a commercial with the stainless trim around the insert area. They look a lot like p*** grill's, but there kinda bulkier looking, and i think the insert is part of the shell..not a bolt in type. I'm no expert on anything though. the second i think is a '32..only because of the dash pic. I think the dash in a '32 is diff from a '33-'34.. The '32 has the oval insert like the p*** cars where the 3-4 have a stamped oval.. regardless.. killer find that i wish i found!!! Rat...
The first is a 34 with a 34 commercial shell. The second is a 32 with the removable firewall and no shell Dennis
Dennis has it right. You can tell the first one is a '34 by the extra beltline on the back of the cab, and the second one has the '32-style removable firewall. (Which I could use if you end up buying these... )
59 Buick wagon nailed it..first one is a 34 with a 34 radiator shell and the second one is a 32. Those cabs are the same as the pickup cabs. Rough but usable stuff.
i think that was a 73? Mustang Convertable w/a 351 under the tarp, at least that's what the man said. That's mint stuff for this area? damn ain't the east coast great. Well at least i can get both of em for $750, the 34 for $500 and the 32 for $250. Found two 47 Chevy Tudors for $500 last night too....now i just gotta sell the ****box.
Lots of possibilities there. Don't over look the small stuff. The dash light switch and 4 cyl gas pedal are worth something to restorers. Lots of Brookville guys looking for that 32 firewall.
[ QUOTE ] What's a removable firewall? TZ [/ QUOTE ] The 32 firewall bolts in, the 33-34 are spot welded in. The 32 is definately worth $250. I will buy the cowl vent and firewall for that, you can have the rest Neal
I'm not planning on p***ing up any of the four as long as things go as planned. But if things get ****ed up like they often do fat*** will get first dibs since he's a local.
Just an FYI, Here is what Rocky sent me a long while back.: Well, first, any ford from '28 to 31 is a model A and as such, will have a fuel tank and filler in the cowl. The gas cap goes on a neck right on top of the cowl--easy to spot. 32's had a bolt-in, flat firewall, bolt-in insturment cluster and a smooth top skin. 33's had a stamped-in insturment cluster, made right into the dash with holes stamped out for the gauges. The firewall is welded in as part of the cab and sticks out into the engine bay further on the bottom [where your feet go] than the top. The top has a stamped-in rib all the way across just behind the visor. 32 and 33 both have a double stamped-in body belt line moulding from the base of the windshield posts, all the way around the cab, under the back window and up the other side to the other windshield post. 34's have everything the 33 has plus another big, fat stamped-in molding above the other 2, just below the back window. Good luck..............Rocky Just for Reference on different years of truck cabs. Chris Nelson Kansas
