Moriarty's post on "The Exodus" got me wondering whatever happened to this Starbird/Puhl custom? It was last scene in Canada circa '78-'79. I understand the Riv lights don't work for everyone, a similar Corvette was razzed on here, but this car is pretty cool to my 56 year old eyes! Never really seen a mag feature, BUT RnC did have a tech article on it year 1968..... Screenshot_20230109-170528.png

I don't think so....Kustorama showed it in a copper brown color, at least last known in Canada. I'd like to know if it survived, more than actually buying it! My money barely jingle jangles!!

  7. One of the car mags had a short-lived monthly feature called 'Street Freaks' (R&C? Car Craft?) sometime in the late '60s/early '70s with various reader-furnished photos of jacked-up cars when they were big, and that Ford showed up there one month. I know it was the same car (Crown Vic, Riv headlights and same grill) and my reaction at the time was WTF? Looked like a very cool custom but that straight-axle was an abomination, which made it really stick in my mind. Only pic of it I ever saw...

RnC ran a hiboy of the month in their Readers Rides gallery, but I can't recall seeing this one jacked up sky high. It was in a tech article, maybe about frenching antenna...lost the issue.

I'm getting old! Seems like I posted BEFORE on this car, and folks were saying the brown car was a different one....any idea?

  12. Yeah, 'Hi Boy of the Month', now I remember... I'm positive it's that car. And I'd say that the 'orange' version is also the same car, but showing some very hard life along the way....
