Found this in a box in a barn on my buddy's farm. Looks like it would go on top of the quarter panel over the taillight. Looks vaguely familiar but I can't quite place it. I thought maybe it was early 50's GM but I haven't been able to identify it so far. Chrysler?
By gosh and golly , I think you're right. The red plastic had me fixating on the rear of those cars. Thanks man!!!
No reason you couldn't find another and use them as trim at the rear near the taillights. I'm picturing something from the Barris shop after Sam was done. Getting into the gaudy years.
Remove the plastic, drill the casting to fit a bunch of hi-intensity L.E.D's so they just come up flush with the housing, re-fit the plastic- you will end up with taillight which looks like it is going to Saturn.
Looks to be in pretty good shape. If you don't have a car it'll fit, put it in the HAMB Classifieds; I'm sure there's someone who'd like to have it. I sold my 51 Chevrolet Business Coupe a few months back; it would have looked good on that car. I like the illumination idea, like Pontiac did with it's Indian head hood ornaments.
