    Thanks Dr J Good advice.
Half Dozen, I've driven a semi updated rear drum brake only model T from Arkansas to Miami with no top back in 93, and most folks here read my saga driving my 1950 ford from alabama to miami having it break down on me every couple hundred miles or so, so I'm not new to problems on the road, but definitely new to this particular model year. It's like it seems to good to be true. I found out just now that the same car was offered for sale, got to 8900 and the reserve wasn't met last month by the same guy with another ebay name. The description is the same though, and same story on it. This time the reserve has been met and it's at 8900. Been on Ebay for just under 10 years so I know about the last minute thing, but the stock Model A's don't sell for anywhere over 11, 12K. I'm just asking the good folks here for their experience, to help me make a better decision.. or avoid a costly mistake. Thanks for everyones help.

  2. If the seller is hiding something, he is hoping your p***ion is stronger than your logic.

Ok, maybe the seller is a nice guy, but he is just moving something he is clueless about, My guess is there are two or more gallons of bondo in it, and there are more incorrect items than the '30 shell. MINT and CHERRY are ice cream flavors, add some chocolate chips and a cup of coffee and you have something.

SORRY! I made the above statement without looking at the actual eBay photos........make that THREE gallons of mud that the body is covered in. NO LOWER COWL BEAD! That is 1/2 inch of mud right there, check out the rear lower corners on the rear quarters. You owe me a thank you for the money I just saved you. Don't know you or the seller, just stating facts as I see them. Painted lug nuts should have told you something in the first place.

37Kid, you are greatly appreciated as is everyone on this board for lending some knowledge. I'm on my way to email the seller and then retract my bid, if E suspends me, who cares, at least I'm not buying someones cover up. Thanks again!!!!!.

A retracted bid is far better than winning something that would be a disapointment. The right car is still out there somewere.

To try to get back to your original question, it's probably worth $7500. Super nice coupes that will score pretty high in fine point judging and look FLAWLESS still only bring about $15,000.

The costly mistake would be doing what you want to do to the car..Mustang 2?/ 350/350?? In the old days of the HAMB you would have been quartered for such things. Oh well. To each his own. Hope someone with some soul gets the car...

From where I'm sitting, I see a lot of bad body work. Look at the quarter.

I had called him about that picture and he told me that it seemed like maybe there was a dent that they hadn't taken out when they painted it. But looks like maybe they never took the parts off to paint it. Just tape and spray. But It's over now. PS, The reason I was thinking of doing all that stuff to the car is because I drive my cars everyday, wherever i go. I drive the 50 with the flathead on it about 50 miles per day. I use the cars, maybe I'll take it to a show or cruise night, but other than that it's at the drive thru, at the movies, visiting friends, wherever, Miami, Ft lauderdale, Homestead. If I were to have bought any 70+ year old car and done that to it, it probably wouldn't have made it too long. I drive not collect. but there are some folks who have the garage space and spare change to collect. Me, when I had to do the body lift on my old 4x4, it was done in the parking lot of my condo...as quiet as I could to not alert the condo comando's!
Anyway I really appreciate all the help and eye opening experience here folks. When I finally get a 31 or Hopefully a 32 3 or 5 window, I'll come here first.

I guess you would have to consider who you were selling it to, you would get a different answer from my wife then you would myself.

I sure don't mind owning a stock Model A someday. I do like well-done traditional hot rods, but I could stand a bone stock putter also. And the overkill monstrosities dubbed "old skool rat rods" often seem a sacrilege to a sweet original. Many so-called hot rods looked older, simpler, even realer (and better) before they were actually made into hot rods. Just my opinion...:)

Well folks, the owner lowered the reserve to like 8500, and the car was sold to someone for $8800.
