Hard telling without seeing how much wood repair is needed.
    Lots of parts missing.

here we go again. If some old woman asks you to haul off a junk car for free, whats it worth?
If you sell it for $1500, whats it worth?
If your buyer sells it for $6000. whats it worth?
Asking the internet the question "Whats it worth?" is a dumb idea

Definitely the wood would be the big decider but it looks to be in pretty descent shape. $6700 isn't too out of line. It looks to be all there which is important on a non-Ford car.

One important thing is the grille, headlight bar and hood sides are there. Those would be $$$ to have to replace.

32 Chevy is a damn good looking coupe. My grandfather had one as his first real car (not something cobbled together on the farm). Deep blue with red solid wheels.

The reason you don't see a lot of old Chevys is because of the way they were built. The factory built a wooden frame and tacked the body panels to that frame. When the wood rotted the car literally fell apart in a pile. During the scrap metal drives during WWII those piles were melted down for the war effort. There are some nice ones around but they are pricey. If you have the time and skills you can make a new body frame out of steel tubeing and get rid of the wood issues. They make a beautiful coupe but consider the cost will be at least twice what it would be for a typical Ford build.

Buy it, drop a late Chevy straight six in it. Paint it yellow and tell everyone you found To Tall Ganahl's old '32 coupe.

I talked with the guy about a month ago. He told me he had to buy it as part of a package to get the one he wanted. Says he's had it for a number of years and in no hurry to sell.

Sounds like a fair price but everything in the northeast is expensive compared to other parts of the U.S.

Half way between what you are willing to pay for it, and what the seller wants for it.

But seriously, look at the wood. These are termite and rot specials.

Shake the body with the doors open, see what it does.

I helped a friend build a 1932 Chevy sedan and the wood was bad, real bad but the car looked perfect, but when the interior was removed he was devastated,he ended up building the car but the wood was over 2 grand and thats in early 80's dollars. HRP

I found this Chevy pickup a few weeks ago while mountain biking; very tempting to find the property owner to inquire about it! Would be quite an undertaking to rebuild the body on this one, but most of it is there...and there...and the bed is over there by the tree...

From what the pictures show it looks pretty solid. Looks like the right front fender of off a 31 and doesn't match the left. Good steel front fenders are hard to find and alone can sell for over $1000.00. As mentioned above the wood is the important thing to be aware of but that being said I know quite a few guys who replaced the wood with steel so it is doable.

Looks to be a pretty decent project. 32' Chevy's are a sweet car when they're finished. Motor looks like it was decent install from blowing up the pics but I'd be curious to see what they did on the drivers side around the steering box with the exhaust if anything.

On a side note, anyone know what the wire looms are? They're pretty cool looking.

    That's funny right there.

But that is the beginning of a nice rod!

Look at pic 11. See how far the door bottom is away from the lower quarter? That is your first clue as to wood condition. It looks like a solid start to A Chevy of that era!

You can use this type exhaust manifold or something similar to get around the steering box.

These are factory cast-iron exhaust manifolds for a

Would it be too much now a days to ask someone selling a car to actually push a car outside a garage and take some real pictures ? I see more and more ad's like this Craigslist posting and it drives me nuts.

Wonder if it comes with the chevelle 12 bolt?? Yes, the wood is bad, yes, its a lot of work. Yes it could be cool as f*ck. I know I keep wandering back to this thread and looking...
I'm seeing hugger orange, low back fibreglass buckets with black diamond pleats, a chrome roll bar, a sq port solid lifter bb with one of my 950 3 bbls and white headers, tork thrusts and blue streaks...:)

You know if the Muncie is in good shape, that's another $600-$700, if the 12 bolt is part of the deal, you are looking at 5k for the car...
If the 265 is in good running shape, you could probably flip that for $500, now it's $4500...

Having done two 36's the wood's not a deal breaker. If most of it's there you have patterns. I used oak on the first and treated to save $$ on the second. Pretty basic carpentry.

I'm curious on the steering box too. I'm assuming the box is the same or close to the stock box on our 30. There's was no way I could make it work with a bent 8 without putting the motor high up in the frame. Swapped in a reversed Corvair unit and it's still pretty tight.

looks like a good car to me at that price. people always like to talk about the wood in these cars as if wood is some kind of mystery substance that can not be mastered by mere mortals. just looking at the pictures I'd bet most of the the wood is good and what is not is good enough for a pattern.

$6700 would only get you the fenders and doors if it were a Ford.

The wood ain't just a couple 2x4s nailed into place ... It's like a cabinet with all the same shapes as the body , the whole thing is a skeleton with tin formed around the wood..

What do custom cabinets cost? Those are all straight lines.. I bet building a woodie body would be less labor than replacing all the wood in that
