I think there was one at the 05 Pile-Up built in 27 or 29 days.

Killbillet build one at Viva this year in 17 hours...but you would hafta define, exactly..."finished"
I built mine in less than a year, it runs, it drives, and good, too...but: it will never, of course be "finished"

I seem to remember the owner of this one saying they built it in something like 4 days with spare parts

o.k....now we've got something ta' shoot fer!
well...I built mine in 9 months, working one to two days a week on it...it is reliable ( just made three hours up to South Orange, three hours back...not a single problem), safe ( 6 pt. cage, tracks straight, stops fine), looks decent( more bodywork is still neccesary/ interior/the rest of the gl***...) , is fast ( should run at least mid-to-low twelves as is, before tuning ) It could have been better, in some respects, in hindsight, but...thats a good reason to build more, huh?

somewhere around 2 hours !Drive out infront of a crowd shut car off then 5-6 guys strip it down completely placing all parts on the ground in front of car.Once entirely dis***embled they would again ***emble the car on the other side of the parts piles .This was a stunt my old car club used to do at fairs etc. Truth is fenders attached with 3 zeuce fasteners etc.Car was tricked out way beforehand just for shows like this. Car was a very complete and STOCK looking 30 A coupe

  13. henry made quite few a day .. with help and parts he had laying around... safe? well ... we still drive em these days

  14. Didn't they build one in 7 days on that TV show Monster Garage?

Marshall built this blue one in 5 days, hence "the 5 Day Special"!
This pic is when Jimmy 2 Bottles first bought it.

I think the Overhauled program did a fantastic job on the one they did.

Are we talking about nights and weekends or full time? You can get a lot done if you have all the parts and no interuptions.

My opinion is pretty much useless, but here it is anyway!

Dont get so caught up on how fast you get it done. Take your time and do it right, and the way you want it. I think it is great that people build cars in x amount of days, if you can accomplish this and make a safe reliable car then I say go for it. But dont do it just to say you did and then spend the next year rethinking things and working on it to keep it reliable.

I spent 3 years on my car due to money limitations. I could have completed my car in half that time if I had had all the money needed when I needed it. I dont regrett the time I spent on my car. Other than a few minor adjustments, mostly in comforts sake and a little fine tuning of the carbs, my car has been trouble free and has never let me down.

Build it as fast as you can without compromising quality. As I said in your other thread, if you need a hand moving any of the heavy stuff like setting the body on, or anything, just let me know, I would be glad to lend a hand.

for a 7 day build that car turned out spectacular. granted they had a "team" working on it, and a bunch of old pro's at that as well.

Dude - just take your time and do it RIGHT. It ain't no race. You must have 100% belief that you didn't cut corners, where it matters. You wanna drive that thing in traffic at highway speeds, remember. Maybe even a trip down the 1320.

I would be leary of any car where a guy bragged about how fast it was built. Everyone here knows that quality and a good job takes time...alot more than you'll ever expect. Nobody cares how quick it's built..that's all TV drama ******** and has no place here.

agreed...I will also add that ; yes...I had already ***embled most of the parts needed to build my car ( 90% ) prior to starting...
however, there is nothing wrong with building something quick, and not slacking to get it done...everything good takes time, but, you can work HARD, and get alot done, too...

You are a wise man. I have seen a few quickies that were nicer than some of the year long builds I have seen. A thrash to get a car put together should be done at a quality fitting of the car, not just thrown together ****.

On Killbillet's defence we p***ed them on the way back to Denver from Vegas and they were driving it back to Washington, thought that was pretty brave being just built in 17 hours
