ok, there is a small plate - apprx 2in by 5in, on the top of the firewall of my 54 customline, just under the cowl, below the drivers side wiper head. This plate has 1 bolt/nut in the center. Access panel for wiper motor?? any info would be helpful. I don't want to wrench on the nut till I know whats behind it or what its connected to. I can't see what its attached to.

Ok, second question.... There are 2 screws, One on each side of the cowl.( drivers side/P***. side) approx. 2 inches below the bottom corner of the windshield. What are these for? I can't see up under the dash, so I don't know if they are attached to something inside the car. They don't seem to be attached to anything on the outside (except the cowl)

if your talking about the two screws, one almost on each corner of the cowl under where the back hood corners come down? those screws are supposed to anchor down rubber bump stops for the back of the hood to rest on..:D
