100 + degree weather is perfect for working on and in black cars, right? Pulled the steering wheel off my Chevy to straighten it (crooked, drove me crazy!) so I decided to repaint it, seeing as how it's peeling anyway. Well, I was until it started pouring rain on me! :D What projects are you guys working on with your weekend?[IMG]

Drove my 1940s bulldozer around a little this afternoon, and now I'm just waiting to see if it'll rain tonight...supposed to meet up with the guys around 9pm.

It's cloudy and cool here, but humid.

took the family to a small car show/ open house. it was so hot in that parking lot that nobody was moving. people were hiding in the shade and staying there. we left after an hour, at least the ride to and from was nice.

Kiwijeff, I would like to trade some of that cool for some of this heat, almost to hot to do anything in the shop today.

just came home from doing a fence repair in death valley (yes, there are people who live out there) it was a brisk 109 and i had a baseball cap. neck is fried and my farmers tan got worse. but i would do it again, because i finally got enough money saved for some new bike tires. tommorow its back to the same place, but whatever money i make then is pure profit.

car wise, i scrubbed an polished the old truck and went to my grandmas house to take mine for a spin. no liscence (me or my truck) and i dont know how to shift perfect, but it was a pretty damn fine ride around the block.

Not the weekend but scored major points with the bride yesterday. I took her back to the place where I asked her to marry me, got down on my knees (which were both replaced last year), asked her if she would still say yes and presented her with the diamond ring I've been saving to buy for the last few years. When we first got married I was bringing home $54/wk. and the diamond ring I could afford then was, shall we say, small. It was almost a joke that I used to tell her, "someday I'm going to replace that with a bigger one". Well, yesterday was THE day, 48 years to the day after the first presentation. She was thrilled beyond words but ***ured me that it was not necessary. I offered to take it back and buy that set of Ardun heads I've always wanted but that suggestion was met with "no way":). I love that woman beyond any words I've got to express it.

  21. Finished off last weekend's wiring job on the AV8 tudor. Last weekend I got the charging, ignition, starting, fuseblock etc done, this weekend got all the lighting circuits finished, including the directional indicators.
All done now except the battery hookup. Got to get a battery and make up a long cable to locate it behind the rear seat. All in all, a very satisfying job.

  22. Id gladly swap.
The rains just turned up, but i did get my shed door open. Took a look at the A, and decided to come back into the house, where i have the fire cranked up. :)
Guess its back to cyber rodding for me today. :D

That's just cool as hell, Frank. God bless you both.

I spent the day grinding off the old paint on the inside of my cab. I got most of the floor and the inside back of the cab down to bare metal. I can't say that it was fun but at least I'm moving ahead. I've got a little more to do then shoot primer tomorrow, hopefully. The weather was perfect, sunny and in the low 80s.
