I have been working on the wagon now for 3 years and daydreaming about the 32 pickup for a year,,,,,,,,keep reading,,,

A month ago while the Mrs. and I were at the Nats South my cousins husband p***ed away,,,,due to a long illness.

Last week my cousin called and informed me that her husband Aaron had left instructions to give me his Chevy 11,,,,,I didn't know Aaron very well but his wife said he enjoyed comming to the house and hanging out in the shop last Thanksgiving,,,,More than anything he had done in years!,,,her words,,not mine.

He was confined to a wheelchair and his speach was slured,,,but he was interested in old cars and mentioned he had a Chevy 11 in the barn,,,,,

I haven't seen it,,,I don't know what year it is,,,2 or 4 door,,,six or eight,,,automatic or stright drive,,,nice or a rust bucket,,,,I'm making plans to check it out this weekend,,,,,,

Now I got this Chevy 11 in the back of my mind in compe***ion for space with the 32 pickup......

My question with all this is,,,,,,,,Are you banging away at a project and dreaming about another car or truck?,,,something you already have or a vision of what you want? HRP

I dream of having ALL my Dad's estate and property settled ...
and being back to " just being me " ...
Was in your neighborhood TWICE since Saturday night at the cruise ...

Then I can devote some more time to the 3W project ... :)

Yup, my problem is staying focused on the project at hand. Probably most people's problem. Once my Chevy is to my satisfaction, I have another chevy I want to get going. Then I'd love to get a hot-rod to go with my custom. Not to mention, boats, bikes, that 63 buick that's calling my name, oh and a cool old ford 8N!

Yup, I just got my 46 Ford pickup on the road and already I'm dreaming of a big old late 50's / early 60's Cadillac.....

  6. A .45 bullet, a rubberband, a g**** soda bottle cap, a corkscrew, and a .010 feeler guage.

  7. Yesterday I spent some time detailing a couple of sets of split wishbones. One set will go on my T sedan. I don't know which one yet as one set is from a 40 Ford and the other is from a 48 Lincoln. Once I decide, I'll have an extra set, Thought about selling them. But decided to put them on the shelf for that Model A coupe I always wanted. Just like that I have thre cars to think about; one built, one being built, and one in the parts gathering stage. Yikes.

That is very cool of that guy to leave you his car.

Is a pig's *** pork - is right. That's why when I tell my wife - "if I had that I'd be done" shes says - "yeah right - you'll never be done." I think she's right. I have a long list - some of the things on the list are serious and some are well - maybe for a year or two - Just to drive and have some fun with.

A nice old mid 60's corvette is a must at some point.

An *** haulin Chevy II would be good too - something with a hot small block and roll cage/ 5 speed - barley street legal but done nice.

I'm 24 in two weeks and I'll be dead before I can build every car I dream about regularly. Especially as I hate selling things.

i've been daydreaming about a clean 4-door cruiser with a little economy engine to haul the family around with. some hot rodder i am!

  16. oh yeah. I'm checking out frame welders in Los Angeles for my A modified RPU (PM me if you're a frame welder in L.A.) and I've had a project that at the front of the back burner and has been there for 2 years. I have the build plans for a 5/8 scale 1960's era Unlimited Hydroplane (Miss Red Man) and I have a Ford Duratech turbo banger I thought I'd sling in there. See how fast I could get myself killed in that thing.

I also met a guy a couple months ago that will build me a custom frame for a belly tanker kart idea that I've been spinning around. It'll have 2 Briggs & Stratton "Animal" engines jetted for methanol and two REAL tall drive sprockets in a gl*** streamliner body. Thought I'd take that out to El Mirage sometime and see how fast it'll go. Nice being single!!! No bills!!!

    It's an addiction.
Don't worry man.....at least you are not alone.

I have 2 running cars, but I'm always thinking of my next project.

5 years ago I bought a 2 owner '32 Chevy 5 p***enger coupe for a future project. I had space in the back of the garage to store it, so my mind set was if I have it 10 yrs before I start working on it, no big deal. The kids will be gone, I'll have more money, time , etc......

Late last summer, I had a chance to buy a 2 owner '29 Tudor. Very nice car, but I thought I would buy it , then flip it, and use the money for the '32.....so, I buy the '29 and the next thing I know, I'm buying parts to put the '29 on deuce rails with all the related traditional stuff. Now I've got 2 runners and 2 projects and very little space left...

I've bought tons of parts to put the '29 together, but lately I've been thinking about doing the '32 Chevy first, since it seems almost everyone is doing Model A's. The '32 Chevy Vicky is a great body style and will make a cool hot rod, and I really want to see this car on back on the road.

What to do......My wife says I'm worse then a woman, can't ever make up my mind....Who knows, if the right '32 Ford comes along, they all might hit the road

That is pretty cool, It's good to be known as the car guy. He knew you would do it justice.

I have the same problem. I have a chevy in pieces and collecting parts for a modified because every parts falls under the "it's a good deal I should get it now" excuse.

HRP. You can sell me the '32 PU....I've been dreaming of re-creating my high school ride since I sold it in 1973. I love my AV8, but my true love is a 32-34 PU.

  23. ya know what I want? really bad??

Two steam powered carriages. Have a buddy of mine cruise the other one and we'll cruise the streets. "PSST! PSST! PSST! PSST!"

Then.. I wanna take em to the drag strip, maybe even bracket race it against somebody. But uh he might wanna turn his motor off to wait on his tree, might be awhile.

..."yeah, I do the quarter in the low 10's too.. my last run was 10 minutes 12 seconds."

Yeah, drag racing steam powered carriages.

I've got my hands full with current projects like getting the model A bodywork done and improvements done for this years racing,I started pulling the motor out of the 56 caddy yesterday to make way for the 472ci motor, last week managed to get the off-road vehicle working (into 4 wheelin aswell).I'm half way through converting an old greyhound bus into a camper. and I STILL!! think about future projects to buy or do.Like at the moment I have my eyes on a nice running 30 sedan I can get for $2500,then there is a up and running1956 chevy 2 ton flatbed the farmer next door wants to sell me for $500.
    Does this dilema ever stop,then there's the projects I want to do,but havn't found the car yet...stay focused....stay focused:D

I've got my 8 mos. old boy in my head. My mind has become DAD. Then my wife is talking about our 10 year wedding anniversary coming up and diamonds. My boy rekindled my old love for Hot Wheels, so I got his collection started for him. My boy also rekindled my old love for Schwinn, so I am restoring my old Schwinn Sting-Ray II. My '03 H-D Low Rider is the anniversary edition, so should I keep it "original" or personalize it. I am thinking about a '64 Impala. My brother has got me thinking about a '66 Impala convertible that's being sold locally. To top it all off, I just need the factory to help me finish this current '38 Chevy coupe project.

But anyways, enough about what's floating around in the back of my mind; that was cool of him to give you his old car.
