    those small letter stewart warner gauges are at the least circa 1959 and up. before that they were "big block letter" SW, before the SW block type in the early 50s it was the wings series. in 1949 you would most likely be using ww2 type curved glass with the big rosebud needle and bold lettering and smooth bezel. the ww2 military ones are black on the bezel instead of chrome.

    I think it was an aftermarket accessory. It says Yankee on it. I know they bid it up to $200 on ebay and won it. A similar one also went for a couple hundred recently...and yes, it works...as does everything else on the car.

    edit...there's one on ebay right now and it's already at $124.00

    The intake, air cleaner, and covers are real Thickstun units...I think Glynn gave $2500 for the set.

    The cam is an Isky 400...rebuilt 97's by Carbman here...39 tranny...'32 rear with 3'78's...'35 wires running 5.50x16 Firestones and 7.50's on the rear. It hauls ASS

    i've been waiting for pictures of that project to pop up, its an Ionia jig built perimeter frame that is stretched in the front. i welded it up back when i worked there

    When they get done with the bodywork and take it off the frame, I'll do a thread on it...the chassis is wild...lottsa one-off pieces
