Got back from hanging out with John for a couple of hours. He's got a few neat projects in his garage, one of which is a A-banger powered speedster. Cool as shit. Thanks John for the hospitality!

Since this is supposedly a vacation, I'm going to take it easy tonight and get ready to check out some trains in the morning and some hot rods in the afternoon. I promise to post some pics.

  4. Your wife would probably like the Nethercutt Museum. Google it. I think it is closed Sundays. Maybe you can use it as a bargaining chip. Call ahead for the full tour. Best part is that it is free, they don't even charge for parking (at least that is the way it used to be).

We went to Travel Town and wandered around for a bit. Kind of sad to see those locomotives rusting away. Some of them have probably zero chance of ever being restored to operable condition. I'm just trying to keep my cool as the Lady is driving and has gotten us stuck in a traffic jam.

In an effort to appease the Lady and stay out of the hot rod shops and junk yards typical of our adventures we went to Sunset Strip and Hollywood. Some of you guys may know about my past life as a DJ and musician, but I still have a fairly out of control addiction to vinyl. Knowing that, its no surprise that I went to Amoeba Records and tried to buy one of everything. It was vinyl overload. After handing over a pretty good sized pile of hundred dollar bills I left with a pretty decent sized stack of wax... the ultimate prize being a copy of Craig Breedlove's Spirit of America runs at Bonneville.

There is also the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, less than 2 miles South of LAX, and, IMO, is SO MUCH BETTER than the Peterson. At the ADM, on Sunday's, for a small fee, they will drive you around town in cars from the museum. For a better experience, I say head to the ADM!

Tomorrow is my last (thank God) day in LA. We are heading to El Mirage at 0400 on Sunday. Our day today was kind of messed up and we missed going to the observatory and Big Boys.
