Paid 800 for a nice "runner" and a trailer load of other parts. Sold some of the excess parts for $400, traded some other parts for a 49 OD 3 spd trans. Bought new .060 over pistons, timing gear, bearings, and a gasket set. Bored the block, did a valve job, mild port and relief, and rebuilt the "runner" myself with milled heads, headers, and an EAC cam.

    $800 - $400 + $350 = $750 so far... Still needs a nice intake, water pumps, and a distributor. I'm shooting for $1250 and a lot of time spent!

I think you should look under there and see if it has a 97 on it. It's not a 34.

  11. That ain't no flathead and the block doesn't look to be a Ford part, either!

Well I had a little extra time today so I took the heads aand manifold off to have a looksy and it looked pretty good. I used a razor to check the top of the decks and I didnt see anything that worried me. I checked the cylinders and they were nice and smooth. All the cylinders were filled with oil as well as the intake. I dont have a tool to take the retainers or valve springs off so I am going to look into that tomorrow
