Well guys. I need some info. My mom and dad have resenty(SP?) desided that they might sell there 1968 mustang. We were wondering what it was worth... The mustang was fully done by us and has around $7,500 in it. The ****** in it slips...

Probably about the same around here. I would say to put some steel wheels and hub caps on it and get rid of the *******s. Nobody looking for that wants to get a second hand car that may or may not have been beaten. Throw them in with the sale if you want but put something cl***ic on it for the sale itself.

Because this forum is dedicated to '64 and earlier traditional rods, that's a '68 and it's definitely not traditional.

Really , just keep it and get the trans fixed . Then go out and drive it ! You won't get 1/2 of what you already got in it . If it's not completely done real nice , you wouldn't get anything for it . It's not a bad looking car but that steering wheel has to go !

Anything with a bad transmission just lost 1/4-1/3 the asking price just for that!

I love that old phenolic ashtray with the breath mint in it! Now that's a sales tool just like the frogs.

Fix it and drive it. Nice car, just not HAMB-friendly.

If it were mine, the wheels, and that steering wheel, would have to go! They are simply ****-ugly! A set of Magnum 500s, Torque Thrusts, or the originals with those wheelcovers would improve that car 200%; as would a factory woodgrain wheel. The car needs a real paint job, since primer red just doesn't do it for that 'Stang. I'd go maybe $4K on it, the way it sits, because I'd have to spend some $$$ to get the things I listed above corrected to my liking.

    You asked.

Could have said it better. If you weren't so far away...I set you up with a set of indy slot mags. Price...I'd say 3k.
One thing that will make it more marketable is a apint job and a clean b***ic engine compartment.

I would think those wheels would hurt sales quite a bit. Even stock steels would be a LOT better.

it has a good look & nice interior get it up for sale (advertise it for 7500.00 )
dump some sea foam in that ****** so they can test drive it. it'll sell!
a bad automatic trans never stopped me from buying a car.

  18. what engine? is that the original interrior color ?

loose the steering wheel, the ******* bars and the wheels
most mustang guys i know like the original factory stuff no matter how funky
if you want the most out of it i hope you kept the original parts off it
but from what ive seen of it the prices quoted allready are pretty spot on

The engine is the original 289, no the original color was the same as the car color in the first picture. Its weird cause as long as its kold outside the shifting works fine but when its hot out it wont go into anygear but reverse ( Some money goes to finishing up the 27 and getting a start on 55 pickup, dad is in hospital and hasnt worked for three weeks and worksmen comp. takes 30-60 days so it'll help use get back on track) (dad is getting better thanks to the help of my loving mom)

someone asked how it was off topic, I answered their question. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. Read the rules and quit your crying.

  22. That's because you cannot tell the difference between muscle car era and traditional.

I can't see the pics and I don't care if its off topic or not. You're just asking a question and at least oit isn't how do I repair my civic. ;)

Anyway I'm in agreement with about everyone else value wise. Somewhere in the 4 to 7K range.
