I'm getting really ****ing tired of building cool **** and then having to sell it, but it's happening again. My house needs a $15k+ roof and other repairs. Plus the wife is starting her own business so we're down to one income and the bills are piling up. The only thing I have worth **** is the Legion Special, so it has to be done.

You guys know it almost as well as I do from all of the build threads etc. Talking with Matt last night, he kept track of all of our hours and the shop rate for fab alone would be over $75,000 if someone was to pay full pop. Then there are parts...so somewhere in the $100k range to reproduce. Gawd, that's ****ing crazy! Thankfully I'm nowhere hear that into it.

How the hell do I come to a price? Where do I sell such a unique piece? Ideas?

That's a tough one man....... I've seen cars like that sell for good money, but nothing close to even halfway to 100k. I can see more money if it was a car with "history" but being a new build......

I say keep it and hustle something else......it's too rad.

I don't know man, had you called it "The ***dumpster" you might get the big bucks, but ......

Seriously, it's going to take the right kind of collector to buy it for serious money ~ a Bruce Meyers, Ron Pratt, Richard Munz kind of guy I think.

hard to figure a price on a car like that. does the fact that it belongs to KIRK! add value or take it away???

Man I love that ****ing car I really really do. There was one at Good guys that was top notch and built by a pretty well known builder and he was asking 30k. I thought he was high.

I'd probably ask 25k at the very most if you wanted to sell it or ask 45k if you wanted a roller to come in and throw his cash around. There's an *** for every seat so you could potentially get 100k out of it but realistically I couldn't see more then 25k for the car.

What the hell do I know though. I'm just not in that bracket of income so I'll probably never have more then 30k into a single car.

After you figure out what you are going to ask for it you can advertise it in the back of the GoodGuys Gazette, ever hear of it ? I think that you have to have a current member ship to do that. Might be worth joining if you are not a member. ;)

    Exactly what I was thinking.

Of course, 7 days on Ebay with no reserve doesn't lie either.

Yeah, but that's scary. Auctions are scary. They can be great or a disaster, depending on who's there or happens to see it.

But you'll have an answer!!!! ;)

It'll bring exactly what it is worth, that week, to the people who see it. Scary as hell, I know.

I've done it in the past to get approximate values. Just list it on ebay with a really high reserve so that it doesn't sell. Don't answer any questions about reserve, just let it go like a normal auction. It will find it's own value then you canm decide if that's the neighborhood you're comfortable in.

    Limited market, big time.
There was a gorgious little roadster built a couple years back, tried for the AMBR. Saw it at SEMA and then it went over the block at BJ, I think. It went way low IMHO for the time, effort and quality of it. It went for 190K??
