I have a friend that has a 39 chevy sedan delevery Tub and doors only. Its in real bad shape., rockers are gone doors should probably be replaced and the roll pan is shot, needs floors. I do not want to insult him but he has left it up to me to start the negotiations. this is a true northern NY car if you know what i mean.
What it's worth probably depends on how nice of a four door parts car you can find? You'll get more useful answers if you provide a few pictures. The condition of the rear door, etc is kind of important.
Scrap tin is about $8.00/ hundred around here. It will weigh less than 1000 lbs. How much better than crusher bait is it? Rear door and surrounding metal is the best part.
Somewhere between $300 and $1200 depending on what's left. Does it have the seats, a title, ect. Definitely a donor to go on a 4 door sedan to fill in the gaps. Pics would help.
it is repairable and the rear door is workable There is no title and no interior. I am sorry i know we all love pics but that is not going to happen right now.
Please wash your hands before returning. To the OP, anyone can give you a number, but without pics you wont get a serious answer.
No title is completely meaningless in NY. Does it have the tags on the right hand side of the cowl? Or at least the Fisher Body tag with the style code? As noted, you just lop off a sedan and paste the top of this in with your welder and you're good to go. I'd say the $300-$1200 estimate is in the ball park; assuming the rear door is there and it at least has a cowl tag. By comparison a few years ago... probably 10 now.. I sold a '58 that wasn't much better and got $500 for it. It was so bad the guy only took the rear body shell and the front 2 feet or so of the frame. I sawed through the floor pan at the wheel arches and we picked it up and hand carried the shell onto his trailer. About a year later he emailed up asking how to register it and I gave him the tricks for NY and I presume it worked, because that's the last I heard on it.
