Knowing that the guy following you down the highway is running those with no front brakes.

How about running no fronts and a spooled rear with one brake on it?

I can get scary fast at 120 mph+.......I built this car in the late '70's. I put a better set of heads (expensive) on it and made a full throttle pass, it brought the front wheels up high enough to not be able to see the lane in front of me and carried them past the tree. I stayed in it a little longer than prudent and went past the return road and slightly through a barbed wire fence at the big end.

I started to notice those ambulance crew members would get off the fence and actually get in the ambulance and start it when they saw me in the staging lanes....The manager of the track pleaded me not to hit the tree (they only had one.)

It only had rear brakes and the harder I pushed the worse it got.....those front wheels were spindle mounts that were basically two pie plates welded together.....toward the end it was turning low 10's@123mph

Drag bug used the 12 spokes until now. The rears were on a regular bug. Yep, 17"

probably not what you want to hear but if it were me id make some kind of adapters to run mc rotors and a set of fab kevins calipes. it would give you some holding power but i guess if i was running them id not be worried about front brakes. there cool as hell
