One of the best perks of my job is being able to scour the internet in search of new parts for us to carry in the store. Whether it is a part from a big distributor or a small part someone is making in their garage, we like to carry what customers our are looking for and what they might not even know is available. So, what are your favorite new parts?! What are you dying to get your hands on or what are you and your buddies producing that you want to bring to a larger market?
I'm not sure if you guys already carry this, but the first thing that came to mind is the GPS 'sending units' for electric speedometers. It's on the top of my list as a future purchase and I see that there are quite a few options out there. (currently just using a regular windshield mounted GPS to gauge speed) Malcolm
I'm not sure if they are new or not, but I've been eye balling a set of radius rods designed like split bones. Fatman makes them, perhaps a few others as well. They can be made in custom lengths. I'm wanting a more traditional look for my T Bucket and I like them. They are made for a '32-'34, but I think they really look good on my bucket, which presently has radius rods and a dropped Model A axle. Here's a pic.
I try not to use new parts, if you know what I mean! I did buy a new set of douche rails though, OG stuff was either too much, too far, or too wasted!
They're not something we carry, but I have been getting more and more questions about them. They're definitely something worth looking into for us. I was looking at those the other day along with the new Speedway ones. They're nice, but I just can't seem to get over how boxy the ends look. Also, for the price I feel like you could find a really nice original pair to split. But, I'll have to check them out in person before I can really make a judgement call on them. I checked his website and saw classes, but I couldn't find pricing on the conversion kit. Have you used one in the past? What separates his from the Pertronix type kits?
His sbc converted dizzy, i got one and so do a bunch of hambers. He rebuilds, converts, re-curves them for the flatty.
I almost hate to say it, and you guys do have quality parts, but they get over priced when So-Cal is involved. Market research on the H.A.M.B.
How about the drag race brake sold by so cal in la in the 60s it was a mechanical hand brake to stage drag race cars.
