Hello all. I'm new to this forum. I have a 59 Apache Fleetside short bed big window. Pic attach. I just pulled the bed to replace the boards. The ch***is is red - paint in excellent shape. Should I paint it black? Anything else that I should do while the bed is off? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1431873084.440277.jpg

I'd leave it alone and drive the wheels off it. It's low enough that anyone who whines about the red frame is down on his belly and too snoopy anyhow.
A friend of mine has driven a very similar but a tad lower truck as his most of the time daily driver for over 40 years.

What I like most about Hot Rods ( I consider your truck a Hot Rod) It's up to you! I'd say enjoy it as is, make your changes as it fits your time, budget, & what's important to you. Nice Truck! I've built 2 red ones, both happen to be '56 Chevies and red!

If it ain't broke....don't fix it ! - Looks fine red, no need to change colour. If you were to paint it woud you then remove cab and paint ch***is under that? Where to start and where to stop?

Thanks to all for your replies. I was inclined to leave it red and didn't want to pull the cab. Btw- the Steck Bed Lifter works great and makes bed removal a one man job. I definitely recommend it. I used my 2 post lift to pull the bed. Worked great!
