If your planning to do any So Cal shows, I agree that the Primer Nats are great, the Crusin Nats in Santa Maria may be better this year since it's their second time in Santa Maria, Ink-n-Iron at the Queen Mary is fun and the Mooneyes Xmas Party is really good.
Mike, you are such a homer. ..................but a correct homer .........JALOPYRAMA..........got to be there
yep. drunken revelry meets fast cars, followed by more drunken revelry. it kind of hard to beat. L.S.R.U. and Pistons and Paint are pretty damn swell, too. provided You like Big Texas skies...sometimes along with a big Texas sun.
'Nuther vote for Turkey Rod Run, Daytona Speedway, Thanksgiving weekend .. Lots of pics on here somewhere ...
Paso was my favorite, went to Santa Maria in 08,just not the same. Leadsleds in Salina Kansas if you Love Kustoms.
Yes the "Turkey Run" at Daytona is huge!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to it 7 years ago and I have never seen anything so big!!!
The best one day show is the Hunnert Car Pileup. The best week long event is Speed week at Bonneville. And the best weekend event is The Symco Shakedown. Incredible venue, great people!
Kind of partial to the Texas Thaw :~) but you can't beat Pistons and Paint and hey they are both in the little town of Denton
Here's another vote for the Roundup! Check the gallery: http://www.lonestarroundup.com/ Don't forget about the BBQ's, open houses, garage crawls, nightlife, Congress! All just gravy to the show itself - be fare warned, it's a week long affair.
John Force's Christmas show. Lot's of interesting cars (rods, customs, race cars of all types). Visiting his race car shop is worth the trip. Admission is a toy donation.
The Revolution. It was small, intimate and full of quality traditional cars. It has become my not miss show. There's also the Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield and the March Meet, but those have been covered already. Matt
Anti-Donut Brekfast, Fountain Valley, Ca. ....Every Satuday morning 7:00 a.m. 52 weeks a year. Read up here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170087 .
Thanks!! I agree that the Pileup is great. Lonestar Roundup is good only because of the rest of the stuff going on around the show in Austin, but it is an awesome time! Cheaterama is a great show if you like being close to your friends. I won't vote for my own show.......
It has to be the Camperdown Cruise that I host on the 18th 19th and 20th of September, I have 6 Rockabilly bands playing a 40-50's Woman's fashion parade and Kustom Lane Art Gallery hot rod Exhibit, Hundreds of Kustoms and Classics and Rods and heaps of trade stalls, and every single cent I raise goes to the Camperdown Hospital Maternity wing update program, its the 3rd year now and getting bigger each year...
