What's the best part of workin on a Hot Rod?

Doing something by yourself for the first time and it turns out the way you thought it would. And answering every"who did this?" with, I did!

 

Seeing how many curse words you can say without taking a breath. Followed by fixing whatever the wrench hit.

 

Sitting on a bucket and holding the steering wheel making veroommmm sounds, to driving your hot rod for the first time. MAGIC !!!!!

 

That’s what I was thinking, fuck now I thirsty .

 

When its over, and you can just drive it. Oh, and feel really happy and proud of yourself.

 

The bonds you make with people while building and the sense of accomplishment when finished.

 

we got a new baby in the house , and with the smells , the crying at feeding time,she tells me to take that shit to the man cave one baby is all she can handle at a time!!

 

Draggin something home that looks this bad and giving it a new life. Changing your mind a dozen or so times on how it's going to look when it's all together, and seeing your plan start to come together when you really had your doubts in the beginning.

 

That picture needs to be placed in front of a cool looking engine with a few wrenches laying on it and it would be a perfect Hamb Calendar material.

 

I've heard the magnet thing, never tried it. 2nd time was a sliver from a die grinder. I actually brushed it in after I took all the protection off. It was like a little razor that went real deep. BE CAREFUL!

 

Solitude and satisfaction...

Solitude of doing what you want towards the finished product, listening to nothing except what's rattlin' round in yer brain (or some good music depending upon the mood).

Satisfaction of "I did that. I like it."

 

All of the above. I can't think of anything else that provides fulfillment for so many emotions and dreams.

The best part??..........it's ALL good. For us it was when Flower and I get to take the first ride or the next ride after a project is on the road, or just updated. The thrill of it all!!

 

Learning new cusswords and being able to air them.
The "after-_______" drink(s) is always appreciated and savored too!
