Im building a 28 model a with a 59ab backed by a 39 trans I've hooked up a ansen master cylinder with my home made swinging pedals I now on the first start up I wasn't able to disengage the clutch so I pulled it all apart and cleaned the shaft that the throughout bearing rides on as well as the pressure plate and fly wheel and installed a new clutch it now disengages but it takes a ton of leg muscle so im asking what other people might be running for a slave since this is a common set up or if anyone thinks there's another problem any help would sure be great thanks p.s. im not sure what slave I have I asked for a smaller on that would fit in the space I have if I had to guess id say 7/8 bore
I have an Ansen slave cylinder on my 37 Ford for 28 years now and still don't leak. I used a 53 Ford brake master cylinder and it hasn't leaked in all that time. I use silicone brake fluid in the clutch and braking system to this in either system. day no leakage . I run a Scheifer 11 " clutch set up.
