what's the best way to drop a 48 ford pick up?

    what is the best way to drop the front end on a 48 ford pick up. It has the original front beam.

    Well, there are dropped axles available and I'm pretty sure I've seen that someone will drop your stock one.

    I know i can by a new axle. I gess what i'm asking is what would be involved in droping the original axel? do I change spindels or do I heat it up.

    Drop axle and remove a couple of springs.

    If you are going to remove the spring. remove the short one. The first time I found out the hard way not to remove the long ones. had the main spring break at 60 mph.

    Reverse the eyes, is another option.
