I relize that this has been probley been posted before but I cannot seem to find the information I am looking for. I'm building a 26 T lakester. I have a model a crossmember and a Speedway 15 1/2" spring. The body is getting channeled 2" and want to mock the frame up using 2x4's to get the stance right. My first goal is to get the spring attached to the axle correctly. I am trying to avoid the crossmember sitting way up in the air and I know Speedway sells brackets that go on the top of the axle but have also seen pictures where the spring mounts to the bottom of the axle on the pinion side. I also have a set of unknown wish bones that I am not sure if they will work or not. The posts that I have read tend to recommend locating the rearend with 4 link system to avoid the wishbones from binding up during suspension travel. For front suspension I have a 3" drop I beam axle, wishbones, and a reversed Corvair steering box.
judging by your pics you might need an axle. sorry i'm no help, but you better go do an intro before the intro police get ya
I do need some more parts but not going to buy anything untill I get this figured out. I have a S10 rear end to use in the mean time.
