Man, I feel lucky then. I have a matching set of four with original blue paint and striping. I trade my buddy for a set that he wanted to paint black. Didn't realize they were going for big bucks now.

  2. FYI.......Real 1940 ford wheels were plain....no stripes.......

Well, someone striped them after the fact I guess since they are real '40s

They’re not, decent set of ‘40 4” on Instagram right now for $250. I haven’t noticed high prices. Even the new 16” Wheelsmith aren’t bad in price.

Fantastic. Glad it arrived. It is good to carry on some traditions even in difficult times. Merry Christmas to all. Jeff

I believe the guys with deep pockets just buy em new, easier than carrying them back to the car at swap meets

You think the price for 40's (4" wheels) is high, you should try shopping for some 5" F-1 wheels! I've been buying affordable versions of each since the 80's, and have a nice supply. But I still can be floored at the asking prices you see in the classifieds.

Edit: There's currently a set of four in the HAMB classifieds for $1,400! That's $350 per wheel. I've bought many Halibrands for less than that. I paid $350 for a pair of 15x4 magnesium five spoke Americans.

And F100 wheels to 66. The pickup wheels are noticeably heavier thou.
