    Good plan.

I see guys on the hunt for 600W from time-to-time, and reaching the point of exasperation in the inability to either find it, or find it in less than a 55-gallon drum.

I try to redirect them to the local auto parts store. It's an easier journey, for a better result.

If there is any yellow metal in the transmission be careful which oil you use.

The key to not eroding bronze/brass is to use API GL-4 rated gear oil, and not the more common GL-5, or higher.

I got home today and installed the new rear bearing and retainer plate. Installed the new throw out bearing and spring, got the new sprung clutch in and installed the trans. That's when I realized I don't have a gasket kit for the clamshell. Don't really need the gaskets so much but I need the cork for the seal. I thought it came in the transmission gasket kit, crap. If I've got nothing going on I may just head down to CW Moss or the early Ford store tomorrow that way I can get it buttoned up this weekend . If anybody wants this old transmission or needs parts off it let me know as I'll probably scrap it next week 20220701_174611.jpg 20220701_171249.jpg 20220701_181113.jpg 20220701_165948.jpg 20220701_170829.jpg

Well I got the thing all buttoned up the other day and took it for a test drive yesterday and the transmission is nice and quiet. But now that it's quiet I hear other stuff haha. Didn't really notice too much of a difference by installing the sprung clutch versus the solid hub. 20220708_173709.jpg
