And what would they look good on?

These are what my '52 Customline was rolling on when I bought it. Sorry ahead of time if it's been discussed before. I'd search but like I said, I don't know what they're called ;)

They are currently remaking these wheels. We used to call them Ansen Sprints as I recall. Also believe they were referred to as slotted mags.

Slotted Mags...I guess I did know what they were called, just couldn't put the two together.

They seem to remind of 70's cars for some reason

Next to the 5-spoke "mags" the slotted "mags" were the most popular aftermarket wheel for many many years.

  6. Look like a set of Ansons to me. What does the emblem in the center cap say.

    Center cap says "Cal Chrome"

Can't find any markings on the backside of the wheels.

Does anybody still run these wheels on anything?

I still see some of them around here on street rigs. As far as looking right, I'd say they would look proper on just about any mid 60's mid 70's car or light pickup.
That said, if you were to look through rod run photos from the early 70's the cars that didn't have true-spokes or five spoke wheels probably had some version of those slots on them.

Slot mags are becoming very popular again. I think you will be seeing alot more of these on cars.

One last question. Are these wheels supposed to have a uni-lug pattern? I can't tell for sure but i looks like whoever had them before may have drilled out the holes to get them to fit

Most ive seen where unilug. Except for a few pintos.

  18. They were very popular in the late 60's and thru the 70's Ford had their own slotted wheels they put on a lot of the 72-73 Mustangs, Mavricks and other cars. They had a black stripe around the outside rim.
Those do look like Ansons. E-T made a beautiful slotted aluminum wheel in the late 60's and in the 70's I wanted a set for my 68 Mustang coupe. The E-T wheels had the oval shaped universal washer so they would fit various cars.
There were also slotted steel chromies. They looked good if you took care of them. They got rusty really easily. There was also a spun aluminum slot wheel too. Micky Thomson might have made them. Not sure.

ansen sprint, fenton gyro, et, us indy, shelby cal 500, all made wheels that look like yours. anything 15x 3.5 or 4.5 look great on the front of a gasser. 15x8.5 or 15x10 look great on the back of a gasser. anything in between looks very Starsky & Hutch to me. all the ones with brand names usually had a specific bolt pattern.

Maybe take a close up pic so we can see them better,2 of mine are uni-lug and 2 are direct drill.

  23. Slot mags as noted.

    Still popular with some.
I buy them when I find them and am looking for one or a pair of Ansen 15" x 8".
Backspace isn't critical if I can find a pair - and if a pair, any brand is ok.

Note as well that some of the big manufacturers made them with their name cast in and others without a name.

    Some pics.
    15" x 4 1/2" with adapted 32 Ford hubcap.

    My 32.
    15" x 10" on back, 14" x 5 1/2" on front.

    Same car.
    15" x 7" on back, 14" x 6" on front with narrow whites.

Couple of 15" x 6 7/8" before and after polish.
Nothing fancy, just to show the shallow step milled around the specific lug hole.
    4 1/2" pattern on these.

Wow thanks for the pics. Mine have been sitting out in the weather so they definately need to be cleaned up. I'll snap some pics tomorrow.

I'm definately liking the slotted mags on narrow whites look. Will look a ton better than the Centerline Stars i'm rollin now ;)

There were so many cars running them around here in the 60's/70's that they got called Jelly Beans and Belly Button Mags.
