A '63 Corvair. Paid $687.50 for it in 1968. My first car. Traded it in six months later for '65 Olds Cutlass ragtop. Paid $1695.00 for it. A sweet ride. Those were the good old days!

Pretty rude there newbie. Why don't you post a pic of one of your rides?
In the future try this more mature method... "...Green (or Ford or whatever your issue was with HIS ride), isn't my favorite color but cool that you held onto it so long, etc..."

I would say the rarest I have owned was a 70 Challenger RT/SE 440 6pak 4.10 Dana, small back window and leather front seats. Purple with white vinyl top. Last year I sold a 69 Mustang GT fastback drag pak car 428 scj 4speed with the 4.30 rear and a bunch of unusual parts from the factory.

  19. It is a toss up between a 1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible and a 1958 Berkley. Both long gone....................

My '58 Edsel. Only 6,000 of mine ever made total. Pretty rare compared to Chevys and other Fords. Go ahead and attack it for being an Edsel, I have thick skin. It takes the dedicated few to love hot rodding these cars.

Not HAMB friendly but since others have broke the ice, here they are...

I would have to say the rarest one I own is my 73' SS Nova with the factory skyroof option. There were 3,259 Skyroof Novas were built for the 1973 model year but only a handfull of them were SS cars. Mine also has a factory bench seat with column shift... This is the first car I bought and I still own it...

Next would be this FUGLY looking gold 69' Firebird 400. This is a RamAirIII automatic car with factory BENCH seat and column shift, deluxe interior, A/C, remote trunk release, disc brakes, hood tach(hood is removed and in storage...), factory AM/FM stereo... Not sure of the production figure but the options make it nice... Currently awaiting a restoration, as is the 69 RS next to it, the 69 bird 400 convert in the garage and the other 69 bird...

Third rarest isn't too rare but more unusual nowadays... 71 Suburban C10. Factory bigblock/auto/... This pic is when I bought it after I buffed out the original paint... Now it has a 67 frontclip, 468 BBC, and some other stuff...

  23. I haven't owned many cars and I reckon Bluto has me covered but I had a strange one.
It was almost a car anyway. It was an original 'glass body off an original series Lightburn Zeta.I paid $ 20 for it when a teen. They were made by Lightburn here in Adelaide. I think they sold 363 of them. Issigonis' Mini snuffed any potential it may have had. But it had very little.
They did a sport version and a styling update ( dumb down ) on the sedan. A few were locally campaigned in the seventies as altereds (with Holden sixes).
They were the flimsiest car i've ever seen- at least in execution. Executed is probably what would happen if anything hit you while you were in one too. 2 Stroke- 2 or 350 cc. I once witnessed a driving demo in a wrecking yard ( it's natural habitat ). They went just as fast backwards as forwards, in three speeds. To reverse you cranked the engine in the opposite direction via the key which had a 180 degree throw.

I donated it to the local kindergarten who used it as as a playhouse for the children. I include my concept drawing from 1980, done when I was eighteen. I still think they look cool as an altered.

  24. Never owned anything really rare myself, but a friend of mine had a Ford Tempo early '80s with the all wheel drive option, which was pretty rare. He had a lot of trouble with it, so maybe it was not as rare as it should have been.

[IMG]This is my OSCA 1600GT which i purchased from Tom Scmidt who ran 203MPH at Boneville in this car.

The car is a prototype built by the Maserati Brothers in 1961. It was featured at the 1961 Salone di Torino. ( Turin Motorshow).

Boenschi built bodies for 3 OSCA 1600GT chassis each one different although similar. This car was the first built equipped with 4 wheel independent suspension,Girling Disc brakes, and a 1600CC DOHC engine that looks similar to an OFFY.

Tom purchased the car from the Paolo Alto area in the late 60s and soon after upgraded the car with a Corvette engine and wheels.

Fortunately, he was careful in carrrying out the conversion and apart from new mounts and removing part ofthe inner skirts to make way for the exhaust, the car is basically as built by the Maserati brothers.

A few years ago Tom decided to go racing at Bonneville, and joined the elite 200MPH club with this car.

Whilst the car is Kool in it's current HOT ROD format i intend to restore the car as first built.

I would be glad to hear from anyone that has any information or parts for OSCA cars and in particular this OSCA 1600GT.

Does anyone have an OSCA 1600GT engine stashed away in their garage that they would like to sell to me?

I sure would like to hear from you.

    Mike

Rarest I ever owned was a 65 Pontiac 2+2. It was a great car I wish I would have never sold it. All original with 65000 on it when it sold.

I can't find any pics right now but this is exactly what it looked like

It's OK - my Grabber Green Boss is an acquired taste, no doubt. It is, however, one of the rarest colors on one of the rarest Ford musclecars ever built. I restored this car with my dad when I was in high school, so it's not going anywhere.

    I really don't care if a GM fan doesn't like it. I don't want a cutlass, either.

I would like to see what BOP-nut has in his garage that is so great, though.....
