Though certainally not as rare as most of the cars here I had a 1956 Meteor Crown Victoria (Canadian Ford). Wish I still had it, sold it after I got drafted. I loved that car.

  3. Some stuff is rare because the target market was small (Such as Duesenbergs for the uber wealthy during the Great Depression). Others are rare because the marketplace in general didn't much care about them at the time. That latter is the category my '53 Hudson Hornet Hollywood hardtop fell into (around 1375 produced)..............but I enjoyed it (over 30 years ago).

  4. Early 1960's Frisky Prince. Only a handful of these microcars were made as a last effort to keep the company going. They were sold as kit form to get some tax break in the UK and mine is the most complete but unfinished car known of three survivors and the only one in the US.

  5. The rarest and the one that took me the longest to find 30 years later. 1958 Toyopet Crown only 4 of them survived out of 287 shipped to the US in 1958. This one is in all original condition other than the engine rebuild and new brakes / tires. I have the car been displayed at various Toyota dealers in AZ. The other one is a 1952 VW beetle restored to original.

The rarest I have owned is my 46 ford Sedan Delivery, around 1882 produced, still have it. My next rarest one would be a finished one.

Last spring I found this 69 Camaro Z10 "Pace car hardtop" in the desert south of Phoenix, currently in the paint booth. Estimated 300 to 500 made.

1969 JL8 (4 wheel disc) Z28 Nice original car I was the third owner, I purchased it from my friends mom who bought it in the early 80's, I sold it to a doctor buddy of mine who destroyed it to make a pro touring car out of it... I have seen it from time to time @ Goodguys resides in Phoenix area now.

My 69 was the rarest documented cars, If I could get any docs on this would be GREAT! I believe it is a Bill Thomas preped car last powered in 73 with a LS7 aluminum headed engine. Car ran at Lions in the late 60's

1955 Chevy Belair 2 door hardtop with power windows, seats, steering and brakes. 265 c.i. automatic, black and white exterior with red interior. Downside - no title - but I drove it that summer and sold it without title.

Got a couple that are fairly rare- first a 1932 Ford 1-1/2 ton dump truck, straight, no rust, flathead 8, dump bed works, "turn signal" arm & crank, etc.
Rarest would be my 1928 Indian Four, Model 401- the first true "Indian" Four- the '27 was just an Ace with an Indian decal on the tank. The 401 had a frame similar to the 101 Scout, but had a single front downtube like the old Ace- and vibrated so bad it was quickly changed to a double tube, the Model 402- I've heard there's a dozen or so 401's left.
The rarest car I ever sat in and the rarest I've ridden in were both owned by my buddy, and both had checkered pasts- the one I sat in was Ford GT40 MkII #P1012, the original one that Peter Revson wrecked in practice at Daytona. A previous owner had bought the wreck, found a new tub, and "rebuilt" the car with the 1012 numbers- but didn't destroy the wrecked original hulk. My buddy had it for a while, and then swapped it in a deal that brought him the original MkI #P1009- the one I rode in. The original #1012 was rebuilt and resurfaced, which didn't make the owner of the bastard car very happy- enter attorneys. Funny thing is, the P1009 my buddy had was also an original race car that was wrecked, but not as bad as 1012, and was also retubbed using P1009 numbers with the original still existing and later fixed- so there are two #1012's, and two #1009's- and my buddy owned both "real" cars

The most rare car I have ever owned built in a factory is my 68 GS400 convertible. It was 1 of 43 with it's color combo and options. Plus it had a dealer add on stage 1 package. The other rare car I own wasn't factory built, but there isn't one other like it. My 68 Corvette with a cummins turbo diesel in it.

The '66 Tiger in my avatar is somewhat rare. There were approx 2500 of the MkIA's, and approx 7000 total produced in the 2.5 year run. Not many "real" ones survived the rust monger.

My '86 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 Aerocoupe was a rare bird. It had a face only a mother could love, too. One of approx 1100, and the first (only?) one autographed by Richard Petty (according to him, back in '89). Purchased used in Charlotte off of a Hendrick lot, sold it to a collector in Detroit.

I have a 1935 early series Dodge sedan delivery (not the humpback) I was told only 18 are knowen to exsist, also a 33 Dodge 5 window coupe early short wheelbase. The one I know the least about is my 1934 Chrysler C A series 5 window coupe trunk model (bussiness coupe) 1650 were built and I have had a hard time finding any others, if anyone knows anything about these please let me know. they are just like the 34 Dodge but have chrysler front sheetmetal and grill. the firewall is extended from the factory.

  27. 1967 pontiac tempest custom convertible 1 of about 4000. When you start breaking down options it gets really rare.

1969 K5 First year, first gen!

Just moved into town, saw it parked at a local watering hole, then a day later it's down the street with a for sale sign in the window... It was like a message to buy it right there and then. Regret selling it like all hell...
