  1. I am going to have to express one of the deadly sins.

The Arnolt and the Facel are Brilliant cars. Bluto, Fur biscuit and palos are my heros. :D

Really the rarest car (and not so rare) that I sat in was a Stutz Bearcat owned by Bob Valpy up in NH. There were also a bunch of Mercer guys there. So it was a fun little mix of cars. Some other rare cars at that show (which my family helps with, we live next door to Ted) more pics here...

Had custodian-ship in a Maserati Bora, and Khamsin, my best friend's who lives in NYC, so no parking there. (Bora's in the background, my Jag is in the forground).

Rarest car I own is a toss up between the Sunbeam and the Model A. Not rare at all.

Not mine but my buddy Rex owns this 1911 Mercury flareboard express truck which is a document sole survivor of this make. He drives it in parades. 1 cylinder, chain drive. This company was in Chicago and not related to Ford-Mercury.

I've had a 68 Z28 numbers match, Sold it within a few weeks because I couldn't get past the color. I'm not even that picky. Usually they will grow on me if I shoot a small sample of it and look at it for a while. It was this ugly dark green. Hell my damn lincoln is that factory pink color. Not my first choice but I'm not changing it. I had an LS6 70 Chevelle. I had many many more rare muscle cars. The rarest one I think I have ever had is my 1981 black on black Automatic, air conditioned, Laredo package Jeep CJ8 Scrambler. It's 1 of 26. It's worth a decent amount of money, but I would have rather kept the LS6.

My '56 Continental Mark II convertible is the rarest car I've owned. There were 3,000 coupes made but only 3 factory authorized convertibles made.

My other show car is a 1955 Porsche Continental Cabrio. There were about 100 made and only about 10 survive.

1897 Leon Bollee Voiturette, just like this one but mine was missing the fender over the rear wheel and someone had painted it a deep purple.

Until I bought it, it had spent the last 30 years in Hawaii. Was the other car a '55? That's the only year they were called "Continental".

57 Corvette w/electric windows, PG trans, wonderbar radio & both tops
    53 Auto Union
    67 NSU Sports Prinz
69 Simca (Common in some countries but a rare POS in the U.S.!!!)
    73 Renault Gordini (Yuk!!!)
    41 Caddillac Limo
    41 Chrysler Windsor Roadster

Hey Barry... did you get the Cabriolet from a guy in Illinois? That looks exactly like the car he wanted to trade me for my 54 Speedster...!

I can't remember if it was the "Continental" or the name of the guy but he now has the most complete collection of Speedsters in the U.S....!

    This wasn't mine... but the same type of car. My Zagato was a light metalic blue with a Black and white interior...<TABLE class=ImageFrame_shadow cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=IMG colSpan=2 rowSpan=2>[IMG] </TD><TD class=RRT></TD></TR><TR><TD class=LL style="HEIGHT: 440px">

The rear end was the "Money Shot".... Loved the 2-scoops...!

'55 was the last year of the Pre-A cars. It was the last year of the bent windshields and beehive tail lights.

It's funny how the Speedster became more valuable than the coupe or cabrio. It was a stripped down version of the other cars. It had no roll-up windows, you needed an engineering degree to put it's top up and it's interior made a VW's look luxurious.

However, the value of the Pre-A Cabrios has risen significantly recently.

my grandfather has a 1931 model a deluxe 2 door phaeton. i have never seen another one.

  22. Does almost count? Years ago I went to look at a 55 Vette that was for sale. It was in good shape and the price was right. But it turned out to be a 6 cylinder with a factory installed 3-speed standard shift trans. I passed since I wanted one with a V8. Later I found out that there were only about 75 Vettes built in 1955 with the 6 cylinder. Of those, supposedly only 3 of them had the standard transmission. Oh well.
I do still have my 56 Vette, one of 3457.

i just sold a 61 corvair camper i bought it because id never even heard of something like that before then i got it home looked it over and said to myself "what the hell am i gonna do with this thing now".
i've also got a trike im restoring that runs a 62 corvair motor it was originally built in the late 60s dont have to many pictures though and its changed hands about 15 times so no one has that much info on it but it has some super rare speed parts like the offenhauser finned valve covers and the 4 carb intake.

  24. This is my wife's 67 SS 396 Chevelle convertible. Approx 3200 13867 models produced in 1967. (Why did Chevrolet toss all the records). It's unique, because most ragtops were highly optioned. This one only has the high horse 396, 4 speed, guages, AM radio and rear antenna. Bench seat, no power brakes or steering, just speed. I bought it out of a barn for $2500.00, and it took me 16 months to restore. It's a blast to drive.

    52 Pontiac Chieftan
53 Plymouth Belvedere 2 dr hardtop.
    5? Studebaker Champion (W/suicide doors)
56 Studebaker President W/3 spd overdrive and hill holder clutch.
53 Ford 2 dr hardtop (Crestliner?)
    60 Bug Eye Sprite
    57 Olds 88 tudor post.
    64 El Camino 283 w/4spd
Presently, stock/original 56 F100 (137,000 mi) Not rare but a garage find and I'm the second owner...My Avatar

OT but one of my favorites was a 72 F100 4X4 SWB I bought brand new in Carson City Nevada for $3,700 out the door.

I wish I still had every house and car I've ever owned.

1983 Hurst Olds 15th Anniversary. It is #2030 of 3001 and is one of 25 in '83 and '84 combined that were actually owned by GM for their employees. Less than 1000 known to still exist.
These are what all those Lightning Rods shifters come from.

I think mine puts me in the top 10. 1971 Buick GS350 convertible. They made 656 of these in '71, but what makes mine even more special are the factory-installed bucket seats. Only 45 were built from the factory with bucket seats, all others had bench seats. The best part- I still have it! its almost finished too, should be drivable on Tuesday.

!932 (I Think) Rockne 2 door sedan, had a Vicky look to it. Found it and a 55 buick convert in a farm shelterbelt in ND. Moved into Mn, and it turned out there was a guy who collected them about 45 miles away, worked me till he got it.
