Not super rare, but my 1937 Chevy Sorts Coupe (rumble seat) only had a run of 8800 cars - miniscule for Chevrolet.

1942 Ford Convertible was the rarest (Still have it). Next would be my 1942 Ford Coupe that I also still have. We chopped the roof on the coupe last year to get the project started. Nothing like that first cut on rare tin.

38 Chrysler vert is pretty rare. Front sheetmetal going back on soon.
Also got a 50 Plymouth woodie I've posted before that's pretty rare too, but no pics handy.

OK, got another one. 1956 Corvette; one of about 3200 or so... with dual quads, one of about 1000 or so. I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take some.

My rarest non-origional car is a '62 Starliner('61 with a '62 rear clip), but my rarest origional is a '56 Ford Courier, it was a Kirby Maid Service car in Reno. It still has all it's origional paint and is fairly clean. If all that wasn't cool enough, the old six popper was swapped out with a '60 Merc 383 with 3 two's. Quick, fun, and a total sleeper.

The rarest item I have would have to be an Edmunds 3x2 intake for a y-block which will probably find a home in my '23 tall T coupe.

Rarest would be my current project:
A 1950 Nash Ambassador Custom Brougham, 1 of 79. Surf Green originally. When I am finished it will not be the Humpback of Kenoshia, via cut, snip, whack, shape, shave...

Most rare -- for me . . . 1957 Chevy 210 post two-door 'Duntov' -- often called a "Black Widow," referring to the handful of SEDCO-prepped '57s that Vince Piggens ordered for NASCAR racing at the start of the model year.

Following the original effort, Chevy-Flint built only a few hundred of the Duntov sedans -- no hardtops, no convertibles -- with all the kick-ass bits and pieces that were used in the SEDCO cars, right down to the six-lug truck hubs and brakes. I ordered mine from Pollard-Carrell Chevrolet in San Fernando, California, when I was 20 years old. After waiting eight weeks for delivery, I joined the 'club' of Duntov Chevy drag racers in SoCal who became the nucleus of NHRA's Super Stock class.

My next most-rare car was also a Chevy, a 1968 El Camino, FPO L79. That translates to 350-hp 327-cid V8, M21 4-speed transmission, 12-bolt 3.7:1 LSD, F41 suspension with boxed rear control arms. I've heard and read guesses that there may have been 600 or more of these performance 'carucks' built, but mine was the only one I've actually seen, and I know of only three other certifiable L79 1968 Elkys that have been offered for sale in the past dozen years.

I had a 200" frt engine dragster,Its was built to use two chrysler engines, I was told it was one of nine built by logghe. It was one of maybe 6 cars in my life that I made a profit on. After selling it I was told it may have been a muldowny car.

I still own a 1942 Ford pickup... They made fewer than 2,500 trucks in 1942. Most old guys swear that the didn't make any vehicles during the WWII years...

I agree with you Flop, on the misunderstanding. Ford stopped production of CIVILIAN vehicles in Feb of 1942. They continued to make trucks and cars or military use, and that also included hauling around the top brass in "blacked out" '42s where the stainless and chrome were painted black. My '42 convertible is a pre-war model. Your truck.. 13 grill bars right?

Had a '65 Chevy Caprice once, most people say Chevy didn't build the Caprice till '66, but i had one and I have seen one other '65 Caprice. I was told by the previous owner that the '65 Caprices were only sold to G.M. execs, but that sounds like b.s. to me.
