what's the shortest, strongest Ford manual trans?

Even though this is an 8 year old thread, there is still good info in it. Here is a pic of a short NP435. As stated, they are bullet-proof trans, but they are a truck trans and drive like one. You can for get about speed shifting, the granny low sucks, and that short little bugger easily outweighs a C6.
