what's the width of a 37-40 Ford front spring?

    thanks. ordered a catalog.
    so - other than buying a custom spring - how would I go about mounting my 1940 front axle using a transverse leaf setup and the stock Model A spring mount?

    Simple...change your perches to the earlier style. It may benefit you to buy the "longer" perches like Speedway sells, since the axle/wishbone ***embly is thicker than say, a stock Model A's.

    Then cut off the forward spring mounting portion of your wishbones, and carefully round the part around the perch with a die grinder (or file) to match the bottom.
