Looks like he was following a rough draft of an old 'spring ahead' build.
Evidently took some 'license' here, and pushed the front wheels back a little, then a lot further...'til it looked right!

"If some is good, more is better!" Crap... Looks like some of the '90s big rigs with the 'sharper turning radius'.

That would be my guess too, if the nail head is the original color it would have to be a 66, first and only factory red nailhead.

Hey, if it's that late model of a Buick, it may have a TH400 too. If the motor runs, there's a nice combo for a hot rod. Like someone said, the body might also be uesable with the fenders and running boards surgically removed. Interesting find.

What a buncha knowledgeable guys here on the HAMB...a cut-down T sedan on a 66 buick chassis. Even got it narrowed down to a "66 only" engine! Love this place
With some windshield work, it could make a cool little roadster but not using the buick chassis.

With a box of cut off wheels, a welder, 6 night a week in the shop and some determination and that thing could be a very nice era perfect modified lakes car...

On a Model A frame, A wires and a hot banger or flathead.

And that Nailhead deserves the chance of a better life, on its own!

Quanta Costa? What does all this nice parts cost? Do you have pictures from the other side? Inside?

I wouldnt be so quick to dismiss it. You never know in those finds - sometimes you hit a homerun. Might be something else besides a Yak in there. Steinauge you are right.....

So there's supposed to be 100 years of good bad and other at this place and a lot of poop too. The other attraction are 4 complete early Scouts that are headed for the crusher soon. The land owner had an exotic animal collection going but his interests shifted to beverages. When you don't feed your yak.....

This is the only pic of the car I've got. It was built by a guy in HS who's now about 50. The bed is apparently a tractor part. The chassis is from "some '50s car". I think you guys are right about the '66 Buick. It's apparently "too dangerous to sell to someone" and "will spin circles in the road all day". I'm going to chase it. Hopefully the guy's heart strings aren't tied to it. I want to see it up close. It looks like it was designed for wreaking havoc and pissing off the neighbors by someone used to fixing tractors. It might be perfect.

Speaking for myself, and possibly many others here. Its fun to bust wisecracks about stuff like this. But if I was the guy who found it, there would be NO sleep till it was on the trailer! Hell, I'd lose track of time just digging through that shithole looking for treasure! Good times. Hopefully you'll get it.

I like that neat little hump they built into the radiator support rod to clear the upper hose. :D They were trying, at least.

  17. I been trying very heard not to chime in on this. Everyone that knows me, says that I never see a car that's not worth saving. So my two cents, I would get that in a heart beat. Take the body off, weld the doors shut, chop the windshield, Build a frame, straight axel, go threw the nailhead etc. Long story short, just build a very kool drag roadster! I will try and draw a picture of what I have in mine for her, and post it back here. and call her {Yaka D Yak} Ron...

Right? The guy that built it really gave a shit, he was just misguided...

Probably has 90 fin front brake drums too, that'd be an easy way to tell if it's a Buick chassis for sure. That's another item that would be neat to carry over to the new, rebuilt version.

I kinda feel bad for the yak if it really starved to death in a hoarder's barn.

If you buy this thing and build it with the nailhead, you know it's gotta be named "The Stuffed Yak".

Yeah....There's enough there to build something. Just the cowl, doors and engine take care of the initial parts for a build. Plus it looks like it has a beer keg gas tank. :D
