Get a telephone Number and contact by phone .. better the cost of a call than loose a bundle.. Im located in SCOTLAND and do purchase a pile of parts from the USA ... BUT I do believe there are scams set up to sound like they originate from basically anywhere in the world..

Who would by a car without seeing as many pics as possible or burning the ear of the transatlantic seller with numerous calls..and not to a MOBILE number ..

Get his POSTAL CODE and use an address finder site .. you often find numbers on it too.. http://www.switchboard.com/ I always look up the numbers on this site and call folks out the blue.. never realy had a bad reaction and it gets them on there toes..

Personally I would treat this deal as shady.. It doesnt ring true .. If its too good to be true it probably is .. I would keep the car ..

  3. Just seen this, sorry for the late reply, its a scam....a couple of my friends got exactly the same emails for 2 totally different vehicles (1941 Ford & a 1986 Honda motorcycle) from a 'car locator in Ireland'

    Scam....scam....scam....and its dodgy too....

    Wow

This deal is so long gone I forgot about it, I don’t even work for that guy any more. I was told he let his kid sell the car (he does that when the spoiled brat wants money) im glad im gone from there. :)

Yes, there have been some scam posts from "England or Scotland"!!! This thread used to be on Finnish discussion forum a while ago and it happened to my friend when he was selling his STW. He also noticed poor English in the letter.

reputed to be from England or Scotland, You will find they all originate from Eastern Europe, or Africa. There all pretty obvious to spot, from having cut and pasted sections from your add, Poor Enlish, offer to pay in advance an excessive ammount via money transferr or western union etc, having there agent collect the car, Some of the fellas over here respond to there offers to buy with s**** e mails making the scam artist jump through hoops thinking hes onto a good deal . then drop them like a stone.. ( use a 2nd e mail address for that one and cancell it when your finished playing with the s***.

Another thing to do is take there E mail address and subscribe them to all the junk mail, *** web sites, advertising spam, you can .. that should keep them occupied ..

I think the scam usually goes '' I`ll send you 10,000 for your cars asking price of 8,000 when you get the check contact shipper & give them the extra money. I get this all the time on the net when I sell cars. If you get a check and it clears your bank, your off the hook! I sell almost all to overseas buyer`s and have never been took! Recently sold a 74 TR6 to a guy from Korea!
