What's up with the gold paint

    Because it's the new flat black! Everyone following the leader and can't come up with something on their own!

    My engine has been gold for a couple years, and now it's gold and black. That's ok, it'll cover up the orange peel?

    My '55 Merc 292 was originally gold. I think there were 2 colors for them in '55 - gold and green. I like the gold, and wanted to keep it close to original

    mine's painted the blue/green it's supposed to be. maybe a sale at walmart???
     
  7. Gold was probably popular with old show cars cuz it looked really good with a fresh set of gold colored carbs. And also a bunch of the anodized aluminum trim pieces in the early '60's were gold colored.

    And it looked good with pretty much whatever color you decided to paint the car.

    Just a thought.
