1952-59 Ford whats up with the need for 52-54 Ford steering columns

There are 3 new WTB adds for these columns and 2 are overseas,

 

I am also on a fair amount of facebook Ford Groups some guys that have "3 on the tree" want a Ford-O-Matic column so they can run a C4 or AOD with a column shift,then there are some that want a clutch and stick shift instead of the automatic. Another thing popping up is guys wanting a 3 speed floor shifter almost two years ago Spectre had them in all the chains like Autozone and Pep Boys for $39.95 then suddenly they were pulled off the market and closed out in some stores as low as $10 so was the automatic floor shifters. Mr Gasket also had a similar model under $50 also mysteriously "off the market" the one out there now are in the $200 plus range. Some of us "Old Farts" remember the Spark-O-Matic,Foxcraft and Penske shifters that sold for $20-$30 or the Ansen's for about $10 more.

 

Is the 52-53 ford 3 speed column / steering box the same as a 54 3 speed column?

 

Yes, they do interchange.
