I stopped to check out the July American Rodder and saw the "Jalopies at Paso"feature and thought it was just time to hang **** on anyone who didn't have a street rod with brand new catalogue bolt ons. They don't seem to realise that a lot of these "jalopies" get finished and turn out to be neat looking rides. They think the engineering is of poor quality on all of these cars and will never be safe. Yeah, there are some nasty thrown together rods out there but give em a break. It's good to see some writers still get it.
What these Mullit writers forget, is that tradionally most hot rods are unfinished and thrown togather and homebuilt,,,thats what its all about, thats the fun part about the whole hobby...All the goldchainers are just upset and jealous that thier $100,000 ****box trailer Queen doesnt get the coverage and looks as much as Joe Kid who spent $8000 and drives his car proudly..
Coverage of low buck/home built ride's enrage the advertiser's.Magazine's push the catalog car's to the max for that reason.Money! Do it yourself cost them. And to many, they will never understand the Rat Rod look.Their loss, our gain.
Sorry, didn't see the post and American Rodder only hit the newstand here now, being behind and all. I'll go and check up on it. I must get on here more often.
