What's your favorite "factory" engine color?

I like the mid-late 60's Pontiac Ice Blue Metallic

 

Ditto on the Pontiac blue.
Also like HEMI orange, but then again, I like HEMIs in ANY color. HaHaHa!

 

Deusenberg Green - especially with all the polished aluminum parts bolted onto the block

my 51 flathead is 1968 Ford candy-apple red, or so says the fine gent who built it. very cool rich color

 

oddly enough, thouch I have never painted even one of my olds motors gold, Olds Gold (bright,not brassy) looks damn fine! (especially against red inner fender, with large sized black tubes hangin over them... )

after that- Poncho Blue (not robins egg)
and Buick Red

olds "j-2 green" almost John Deer, but darker.

chrysler red (which is orange- but "vitamin-c" orange is red...typical dodge,backwards)
Ford Industrial and Marine Gray (almost slate...makes those dogs look sexy.)


hmmm. I don't think there is an engine color I don't like, 'cept mabey Chevy orange. seen it so much, it has burned my retinas...

JOHN DEER GREEN!! My old Henry-J has been sporting that color since in the sixties when a guy told my old man that it was bad luck to paint an engine green. Then dad set the 1/8 mile word record with the unlucky colored engine! Been that way ever since, even has the JOHN DEER stickers on the valve covers.

56 Merc 312 gold is neat. Also, VHT has wrinkle finish in red and black, makes a bitchen look with polished aluminum.

 

I paint everything BLACK except the carb......altho I like that gold color Mopar used in the mid to late '50's.

 

Colors?? They came in COLORS??!? I thought they all came in rust with grease drips...
I like early Ford mossy green, set off by cad plated fasteners and some nice Canadian aluminum castings here and there...

 

Didn't cadillac use gold on there engines at some point?, I think I recall seeing in somewhere, or Olds Gold; however I do like the I can't believe it runs colour of rust.

I paint all my mine Ford Red, This includes Chev. engines. My new project a Buick Nailhead will be Ford red also.

 

Olds Gold and Olds Seafoam green.. yeeah, buddy.

Anything but STOCK, I painted my 235 HOC Pagan gold metallic .

 

Cadillac Blue, Rustoleum Forest Green, Case Flambeau (?) Red ... race car motors are supposed to be black.
