Wow Boones, I am truly flattered, I don't think my car is worthy of the company of the other two you mentioned. I am assuming you were referring to the 33? This one has been out of comission for over a year going through a revision while I have been getting the 32 roadworthy, here is the latest picture. BTW, My favorite fenderless car is definitely the Cop Shop Coupe. I can't remember the owner's name, but you are one lucky guy!
I 'bout crapped my skivvies when I saw the (very reasonable) price when your car sold. Very nice car. Who ended up with it?
i cant find my old magazine with the chopped and channeled, green 32 coupe. it was called the little green time machine. had a green plexi roof insert, slotted wheels skinny whites. it is what inspired me to biuld my old duece.. anyone got a pic of that i would love to see it again...
Poor pic, but to me this is one of the ultimate HOT ROD Sedans. As far as "finnished" cars, this one is awesome. Built by a Hamber I believe?
Rolling Bones member Ron Hofaker here. I think the Boner cars are the best fenderless rides in the country. My personal favorite is this '29 Highboy. Was parked between Keith Cornell's Deuce and Dave Moyer's '57 Pontiac at the Road Agents Hot Rod Rumble.
GtnMtn.... that first sedan you show is the one I was thinking about. I thought it was orange thou.. it looks like it is in primer in your pic..
I like em all. My 30 and 34. The 34 was driven to B'ville from Pomona. Set a new G/BFR record of 210.
Yeah,I know the one.It was featured in Rod & Custom September 1996.I have a framed black & white pic of it hanging on my wall. It's one huge pic which contains many of my favorite Rods and Customs.I couldn't take it apart, that's why the quality is so bad.Sorry. ]
That mustard yellow car is Jimi Bonitas' 32. I dont know if he is on here, but he is a pretty decent guy, and that car is NICE
I'll stand on my '03 nominations -- Doane '32 and Ivo T -- for their excellence and their influence on hundreds of cars that followed. Here are some others that stand out for me: George Poteet's '32 5W Jim Busby's '32 5W Robert Williams' '32 3W Too much black? How about this, then?
Thats the Eastwood-?Barakat? car it was on the cover of Hotrod in the '80s. One of the first "beater" cars thrown together by Pete Eastwood and Barakat. Had a healthy sbc in it and ran stong at the track. It was red oxide with a red/orange frame. G.M.B
I first saw this car in the February 1982 Classic & Custom magazine. The photo below is a scan (complete with centerfold crease) from that issue (photo was by Lee Pratt): Bob Zazzi's Little Deuce Coupe. It was everything I loved about rods, but hadn't experienced in years. I saw it in person at the first Lead East show and it was even better that I had imagined. Twenty-three years later, I still love this car. Anyone know if it is still around?
With all these fenderless hot rods you would think that fenders would be real cheap. But just to add to the collection, the nephew and his son in the modified from this years beach hop......
Stevil, Is that the Tognotto coupe.... If so my friends in Seattle had the opportunity to paint that car during its restoration... Its a bitchin ride.
I like this one too, & Jim's New Ardun Powered T-ster also, But I'm going to own #7 someday-she's a work of art! Or is that 2 Jims,1 Bill & 2 Ricks ?
I am digging here........I must have missed this post.....What ever happened to "Jersey Suede"? I have pix of it from back in the 80's when I used to stand around it and say "Wow". I also found a pix of a Model A with a blown SBC that was fenderless and red from Texas. The thing that was cool is I called the guy every weekend and chatted with him about his "A". I wonder what ever happened to it. I will try to get a pix of it and post it. Chris Nelson Kansas
