son your gonna drive me to drinkin if you don't stop drivin that hot..............rod..................lincoln

  8. The Beach Boys' Shut Down has good Hot Rod vibe to it. The Surfites'
Thou Shalt Drag, which is a tune instead of a song, also does a good job of gettin' you in a hot rod mood.

However, Charlie Ryan's Hot Rod Lincoln probably should get the prize for best hot rod song. It's classic!

Man, I grew up listening to so many old car songs, they are vastly responsible for my corruption! I knew the words to "409" before I could even speak myself as a toddler! "SHUT DOWN" has always been a favorite also. There's also a little known song called "CHEATER SLICKS" that seems to drift through my head quite often. I don't know if it's really considered a car song but everytime I hear the Beach Boys "I GET AROUND", I've gotta crank the radio up at the line of "We always take my car 'cuz it's never been beat!". I love that line!

Intoxica, The Revels. Not really a hot rod song, but I always hear it playing in my head when I drive my coupe.

I didn't see this one on here, unless I skipped past it...it's a little "newer" tune, but it makes me think of being behind the wheel and working on our '53. It's a song by David Lee Roth titled "She's My Machine". One of my faves...

People will giggle probably, but I am really digging on the two Jan & Dean instro's right now..."Bucket Seats or Old Ladies Seldom Power Shift" and "The Barons of East LA."

Keep in mind, I am a total sucker for things like Gary Usher drag records and Bruce and Terry stuff.
