My fave is Paladins-Dave Gonzales, Hot Rod Rockin, killer. Tough not to say Hot Rod Lincoln because the fab. Bill Kirchen, former Commander Cody slinger/singer played in Omaha with The Hacienda Brothers. Kirchner plays what he calls diesel-billy, full of truckin and travlin stories, Bill is one the worlds premier guitar slingers. Everyone watch for the Hacienda Bros. Check them out at www.HaciendaBrothers.com. Great country soul, the band is co-led by Chris Gaffney, my favorite Honkytonk singer, guitarist, and primo accordian pumper. We also have just been treated to a show by Lee Rocker and his super fab band. He is playing, singing, and performing at just super cool pace. Not to mention an allstar band that'll rock yer socks off. Rock-on ~Sololobo~ and a sad P.S. on this post, we have lost the great Chris Gaffney since this original post--R.I.P. Gaff!! And Dave Gonzales has teamed up with Austin soulman Mike Barfield with a great new band The Stone River Boys pumping out more western soul, don't miss'em if they come your way!!

Shit--beat me to it. I had to dig through my cassette collection in the basement to find the tape with that title on it. Couldn't remember what it was called, but I remember the opening sound effects . . .

    I don't think's been mentioned yet.
    "59 ford" the firebirds.

Also, not really a car song maybe but has the hot rod ford in it. When i was a (younger) kid we always went on a Sunday drive out on the logging roads and stuff, getting stuck in the mud and all that fun stuff in my dad's 61 ford wagon and this was one of the songs he sang all the time. It and some song with the line "don't want a pickle, just want to ride my motorcyle". Can't remember any other line of the song and not sure if he even sang any other line of the song either for that matter. Fun times back then.

    "hey good lookin" Hank williams

I can't believe no one hasn't picked this song with it's classic line. Manfred Mann's cover of Bruce Springsteen's song "Blinded By The Light" with it's line of "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night".

I know, I know... I need a intro. Will work on one what can I say...

  21. Larry Garner's, Four Cars Running is cool blues. Lately on XM I've been hearing a version of Terraplane Blues by Rory Block that kicks ass.

"ride like hell" by either Big Sugar or Grady. The Grady version is louder and faster but both do the trick for me.
