I like the look of the Chrysler poly head motors. My model A runs a flathead V8 and I have a 392 Hemi and adapter to swap in when complete.

    FE for me, I guess that's why I have 10 427's :)
Nothing matches that big booming sound of a good 427 with a lotta squeeze and a lotta stick, just a loud, obnoxious shagnasty dinosaur bastage- and then that howl when it comes on the cam :p Doesn't hurt to have a certified racing pedigree, having won on most every kind of race track, over many years- there was even a sprint car up at Calistoga with an Algon-injected High Riser- should heard that thing come off Turn 4 in the days before mufflers- in fact, I still have the headers off that car. And so many ways to look good, chrome baldies to pentroofs, 6V, 8V, Dominator, Webers, injectors. But just start it up and watch the Chebbie guys faces :(

  8. Ford Y-Blocks.. If the engineers would've just given a little more room for this thing to grow it would've taken over the world.. Instead the lessons learned from it gave rise to the FE, which is my nest motor of choice.. Then would have to be a big Buick Nailhead.. Then a Caddy 390.. That's just me though..

My absolute favorite: 1954 Chrysler 331 Hemi.
Why? Because it doesn't have the water outlets in the front of the heads and has a wonderful vintage look about it.
The next three are 426 hemi, Ford SOHC 427 and Ford Boss 429.

I still follow the grand look of a polished flathead with chrome acorn nuts all lined in a row on those finned aluminum heads and multiple carbs with vintage accesories!

  22. Got two Olds Rocket powered rods so I guess I'll say Olds but would love to have a
    427 Ford SOHC motor.

The '40 has a built 302---World Windsor Jr heads, roller rockers, Comp Cams cam, 650 Holley, headers, HEI---but the next option was a 427 Ford. I suspected the fuel mileage on the SOHC would have been a disaster but I'd still like to have it.

If you can afford to put a SOHC together, fuel mileage is not a concern.:D
