  4. Tomato, Tomoto, rat rod, trailer whore. god or no god, democracy or dictatorship. This debate is never going to end. Rust will never Sleep. It will find all the waxers in due time, that is Patina to me. Patina is a symbolization of time. I personally like Patina trucks the most. It symbolizes hard work, that stood the test of time and is still fighting to endure. When people go out of their way to make a vehicle or anything for that matter look weathered, that is saying something. It isn't just in vehicles. It is signs on the sides of buildings, furniture, the clothes you wear. Patina is everywhere, it is a weathered look, symbolizing something, some people appreciate that. No right or wrong here IMO.

At the age of 62, I've developed a nice patina. My hot rod, not so much.

Rust isn't patina, it's rust! If it's been primered it needs the body work finished, faux patina is on faux cars!

yes ....body and paint work isnt that hard...as much as i hate to admit this i have done a lot of work on late model VWs and minitrucks had a couple in mags and won a couple of best paint awards at shows(I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THESE CARS WERENT MINE AND I ASKED TO NOT HAVE MYSELF BE NAMED AS PAINTER I DIDNNT WANT MY NAME ASSOCIATED WITH A NON-HOT ROD OR CUSTOM)..all of that body and paint work was done in a shitty one car garage before i got my new digs...as long as you clean up and wet the floor and set up some box fans for the right ammount of flow you can do anything

sheetmetal is structural too....people tend to forget that...yes there is an inner structure but given enough time rust well spread everywhere...rust is cancer...if you had cancer would you refuse to treat it i thinknot you would be at the doctor right away....rust is the same thing in cars why would you not fix it...its just stupid...rust holes also allow more moisture to get into a body...and further create more rust....

And that is sad! I've seen it time and time again too. They would rather look and comment and "love" this then the nice driver sitting next to it with a 1 day $700 paint job.

Even my beat up O/T Nova race car has a 1 day paint job on it. Its not pretty up close but looks great from a far.
