nice, another maint man! i'm the maintenance supervisor/chief engineer for a 130rm laquinta in utah. not quite as much responsibility as a 40 floor (we only have 4) office building but it's fun. i get to do everything from plumbing to electrical, computer networking, phones...pretty much anything and everything. it's nice knowing that every day is going to be different, i hate doing the same old shit evrey day. best part is that i'm getting payed good money to take things apart and figure out how they work.
Job..You mean people only have one? Well..I pinstripe. And commercial signs, from car tags to billboards. Still love to sling a brush when the opportunity presents itself. Also custom painting, mostly bikes and helmets. Do a fair amount of fabrication work, race cars, etc, everything from building a frame to fabbing and mounting the bodies. Then there is this other 8-5 thing I play with, of owning a little, old, auto parts place in Birmingham, AL. ....2nd Generation in that venture. And I'm everthing there from the guy who signs the checks to scrubbing the towlet bowls...Some jobs ya just can't delegate. Really though, I grew up in parts and the striping, signs, painting is a passion.
Currently I am a real estae appraiser. Ah - the glamourous world of rats, bats, and spiders. I like it enough to stick it out, the money is decent, and I am my own boss. And you can bet I insist on seeing the interior of every garage - never know what you'll come across.

Mechanical engineer. Over thirty five years design, build, maintain, and operate Texas gulf coast chemical plants.
I make milk jugs there ya go, the mysteries over, you always wondered where they came from didn't you?
I did mechanical and structural design off and on for 40 years. I prepared shop drawings for fabrication of some of the world's largest cranes (among many other things). Now I'm retired and driving a big rig hauling U.S. mail part time....and I like it better.
I've got a steel fabrication shop...so that makes me a welder. We mainly do commercial fabrication, but I have been known to work on my own projects around here....good perk
Count me in as a Pro/E driver. Actually it's kicking my ass since I'm only now making the switch to wildfire (latest revision, they changed it up a lot). My 8 years of prior experience is just about useless. Of course, everything I'm designing will never see the light of day, but we need to pretend we're earning the gov't handouts.
Auto Claims Supervisor for a large insurance company. Don't flame me, at least folks in the old car hobby have somebody that understands the cars and will do what I can to help. I owned a tow company/wrecking yard in Reno for 18 years.
I get the task of selling dodge parts over the counter and wholesale at the oldest dodge dealership in the country. It can get mundane at times. But then again some people that you meet are freaking hilarious!

I have been doing this since 1965, and I still get excited about it. Brian Rupnow www.rupnowdesign.com
